So Ashley Cole 'apologised', why didn't Riley?

Both had a bad day at work and got on the wrong side of a few people. Cole was rightly forced to apologise to someone he gave a kick to and also to some who he had a little strop with and those apologies were dished out to Hutton and Riley with equal fake sincerity. But as Riley got an apology from Cole it seemed that all of a sudden he didn't have to give one. He fucked up at work too by not giving Cole a straight red, he is in a position on the pitch where he is expected to protect players on the pitch from such tackles yet allowed a player to stay on the pitch who executed one. Where is his public apology to Hutton and the paying public? Stinks of hypocrisy if you ask me.

Because these refs are muppets! They all moan, and rightly so about players disrepecting them. But when they get a chance to do something about it, such as showing a second yellow for petulence they dont do anything. Only themselves to blame. Havn't the balls!

Would you see a rugby ref putting up with that?. Collina had been the best ref for recent years. Although now retired, would he had put up with that.... I think not!

Grow some balls Riley!

Like you say Dougal FAKE sincerity. Would rather he did nt apologise. As for Riley.........
Did you really think he would come out and say 'I made a mistake.Sorry' ?

Well I know it was fake, that's cos he's a **** and always will be. But the same pressure would never have been put on Riley and the fact that pressure has to be put on anyone to apologise at all shows that sportsmanship comes a distant second to ego's and personalities.

and thats the way the game is today. **** really.

Like you say he sould never have had to have had pressure put on him in the first place. I would go even further and say he sould have come out on BBC or Sky not Chelsea TV too!

Ok maybe thats a bit much!!

Cole is a F:bang:AKE as has been said. He plays (and has always played) FOR fake TEAMS....behind FAKE (BUT IN WENGERS CASE, ASTUTE ENOUGH) club set up's. Just look at what transpired today, in the Pool game, and EVEN the FA can see how the Cole ASSAULT has damaged English football. I have never been impressed by the 'suits' in Soho Sq, or wherever they hide, these days. It is time that they accept that they are amateurs in a very wealthy childrens playground. Words fail us when we attempt to describe the incompitence of the 'idiots' at the TOP of English Football......No wonder 1966 is a distant memory (for anyone who cared in the first place lol) COYS!

Referees are unaccountable for their actions, therefore (in his eyes) there was no need for Riley to even consider any form of regret for his non-action. Ok, so they get demoted for a game or two - but that's hardly a punishment for them.

As a referee, Riley, along with the rest of them, is a weak individual and as such, the paying spectator suffers, week in - week out. A man with conviction would have given Cole a straight 'red' for the dissent alone.

On a (slightly) different note, it has been said by one of the PL officials that they "are part of the entertainment"!!! :eek:mg:

With an attitude like that, is it any wonder the game is policed by total idiots??

Riley should at least explain why Joe Cole and Robbie Keane's dissent merited a yellow card whereas Ashley Cole's did not. As he'd been booked for the challenge trhat would have meant a sending off.

Looks even more inconsistent in the light of Mascherano's dismissal today.

Ashley Cole doesnt want to come to Glasgow for his tackle on our boy Hutton. I know one thing about Hutton, he doesnt fall over easily.

Anyone know when the referees for the forthcoming weekend are announced?

Given his demotion and immediate reinstatement to one of the most notoriously difficult to referee games in the year last week, surely he'll be doing QPR Vs Colchester or something this week...surely....he will...won't he?

You could try the Professional Game Match Officials Board website

But isn't that just the problem, in a nut-shell?

These referees are totally unapproachable and isolated from reality, that they don't explain or comment.

Personally, I can see why they don't, because they can't be seen to contradict themselves, week after week..........
