Winning Bid: An incredible £500!!

Hi all,

I work for the British Heart Foundation and a few days ago I had a call from a Spurs fan who was so moved by the incident during the Denmark game that he wanted us to auction off his signed Eriksen shirt in our shop in Chelmsford.

Today he called again after having it beautifully framed (by a kind hearted Arsenal fan with a £50 discount!) and I've now got it at the shop. His idea was to set a date, probably a few weeks, and to sell it to the highest bidder.

A few points...

The shirt will be sold in the shop just around the corner from the Chelmsford Spurs store so the winning bidder will need to be able to pick it up and pay in person. I wish I could offer it to people further away but the bidding is open to the public as it will be on display in store and we can't take payment online or over the phone.

The donor originally got it for £90 at a Great Ormond Street event unframed and the framing was £75 so I'm thinking of starting the bidding at £150.

If anyone is interested or knows of anyone else who might be then you can post in here and PM me your name and number and I'll keep track of bids. I'll also update the thread with the highest current bid.

Money raised will go through the shop where 100% of profits go to various things from research into Heart related diseases to installing defibrillators in public areas and much more.

The donor didn't want any recognition but he said to me that Christian Eriksen's life was saved by the medical teams there that day and that his hope is that his shirt can be used to save somebody else's.

If I've missed anything or you have any questions then post in here or PM me. I'll check in daily.

I'll set the deadline for bids over the weekend once I've worked out the details and add it to this post but I'm thinking Tuesday 6th July at 4.30pm.

Thanks for taking the time to read this far!

That said, here is the shirt in question...

@JerryGarcia Do you have a donation link for you shop directly? If people can't bid, they might still want to donate. If so, drop that or any link you think appropriate in here :)

Thanks Rob, we don't have a link to donate directly to the shop but if anyone is interested then here is the main link to the BHF website where you can donate.

Much appreciated! We did a lot of work in the wake of the Muamba incident and will continue to raise as much as possible (y)

Will it be possible to bid through this thread or a link? Live in Norway, auction just for domestic people?

Unfortunately not as I have to sell it in the shop, unless you want to jump on the ferry and pay us a vist?

Well I don't need a ferry as I live in Basildon. Do I need to come to the shop to bid? I'm not rich so I can only bid so much, so I'll keep an eye on it and if it doesn't go past my budget then I'll come next weekend to bid.

@JerryGarcia For donations - set up a Crowdfunder charity page. Costs you nothing and people can pledge donations and gift aid.

That's a really interesting idea thanks, I hadn't thought of that before. Will have to run it past the powers that be first though!

No need to come to the shop, just pm me if/when you're ready to bid and it will be done.

Thanks and good luck (y)

I know quite a bit about it and can put you in touch with a charity expert. Let me know.

Will do! The main obstacle might be linking it to a bank account as BHF banking for the shops all goes through one account as far as I know. I'll investigate and get back to you thanks.

Can't quite believe it but I just got a bid of £450! The gentleman who bid wanted to make sure he won! What a legend!

Ok I've just received an extremely generous £500 bid from a Spurs Community member who I hope will post here and and be showered with well deserved likes and winners medals.

I'll also be petitioning the mods to allow him special privileges such as viewing the secret hidden ITK forum and unlimited access to A&C's onlyfans nudes!
