Hi - not sure where to post this and its a bit of a long shot but wanted to see if any of you good people could help or know anyone that might be able to help with a special request for a friend and fellow Spurs fan.

My friend Steve is 47 and had a stroke last week completely out of the blue. Steve is really active and sporty, he plays football twice a week and is a massive Spurs fan. He's going to need to learn to walk again and is in a bad way unfortunately. He has said his football days are behind him but we (friends from the football group he set up) want to try to keep his spirits up for his long road to recovery which is still really unclear at the moment. We bought a Spurs shirt for him and I've contacted Spurs Customer Service to see if they might be able to arrange some signatures on the shirt for him or maybe a video message from someone or anything really that might give him a lift. I thought I might message on here too in case anyone was connected to anyone who works at Spurs who might be able to help or give advice about how to go about arranging something like this with Spurs.

We play reds v whites every week and for 10 years Steve (affectionately known as Captain Steve to us all in the footie group) has refused to go on reds and doesn't own a red shirt - think it would mean a lot to him if it were possible to arrange anything with Spurs so if anyone here is able to help or can give advice on who to contact it'd be much appreciated

Thanks

@spursgirls
Sorry Maz, it feels like it's always down to you with this sort of thing but if anyone on here can help a fellow fan, it's you.
Plus, you've got the biggest heart on here. X

Quick update. Gary Mabbutt called Steve from South Africa, having to drive somewhere to get a signal. Micky Hazard has also called Steve and has said they can meet up at a hame game for a chat. Mike said that Steve was very happy receiving the calls and it has put a smile on Steve's face. :)

Once again, you come through to support a stricken fellow fan.
You've made me smile today as well, so thank you, again. ♥️

I didn't have to do much :)

Not at all. I'm just lucky to be able to contact these guys.
You may not have to do much but the fact that you do anything is enough.

Next time you contact these legends, please pass on our thanks for everything they've done, and do, for our fanbase.
They are true gents and their good work doesn't go unnoticed or underappreciated. ?

Micky replied "That’s very kind Mazz thank whoever said it Xxx"
I said I would and that it was the guy who alerted me to the post, and he then said "
"Ok tell him thank you x"

And this is why you're not just the most thoughtful and beautiful person on SC but possibly, one of the most beautiful people I have the privilege to know (even if that's only via social media).

Just to say thanks again Mazz Steve was buzzing after both calls and I know they have given him a great lift in his recovery. Both Gary and Micky really went out of their way to call and give Steve a boost and we are really lucky to have legends like them associated with the club.

Also really lucky to have someone like you Mazz on here to make this happen and help a fellow fan - you’re a legend. This site too really has the power to help in times like this I usually only lurk for a bit of transfer gossip but it really is a great community when fans can come together. To give a quick update Steve has been making a great recovery so far, particularly physically as he can walk again now and can do more things independently so the doctors agreed to let him go home on Saturday which was amazing! Still a long road ahead and some things in his life will have to change but he’s made a great start which has been amazing to see as I wasn’t sure if I’d see my friend back to how he is already.

All the best and thanks all for the kind messages and especially to you Mazz! COYS!!!

That's brilliant that he's able to walk and is progressing well. Hopefully that bodes well for a full recovery.
