I know we are all looking at the teams above us and calculating the potential to usurp one, or possibly two, of them by the end of the season.

However, should we be worried about Liverpool coming up on the blind side to ruin our plans after 4 straight wins with no goals conceded.

I work with a couple of Liverpool fans and i cant tell you how fcuking bullish these boys have been this week. Its driving me nuts and they're beginning to mess with my head. The pair of them are utterly convinced they will now nick 4th spot and i know we are 6 points in front with a game in hand, so shouldnt be worried, but im still getting mega concerned.

Someone straighten me out please and convince me i neednt lose sleep over this

No. We can't look over our shoulders. We will never be complacent enough for that to affect us, were playing catch up, not keep the lead. If Liverpool catch us they will catch us, but there is no point thinking about that. We need to catch Chelsea or Man City. If we finish above either of them we will be in the top 4.

No. Always look up. I don't care whether we finish 5th or 6th but i do care if we finish 4th or 5th. If we cant get in the top 4, there is no way that Liverpool will.

Nope. The good run was always going to happen, it always does when a new manager takes over midway through a season. Even more so when it's "King" Kenny (fucking hell that annoys me more than the thought of them catching us!!), becasuse thats what the club needed at that time, and injection of passion.

They beat Chelsea, not by playing well, but because Chelsea were shit.

It will come to an end soon enough, and as SteveStripe says, we should never be looking over our shoulders, never.

They would need a major mess up from us and another team for them to get top 4. Like everyone before has said, we need to focus on the teams above us.

They are 6 points behind both us and Chelsea, and have played a game more than both of us. They require both us and Chelsea/City to be to be shockingly poor from here on in to even have a sniff. So as others have said, lets kep our eye on the teams above rather than those below

Mmm, good thread - I've been wondering about this too. I think they could run us close. That doesn't mean they will though.

No. If they make up 6-9 points on us then I don't believe we'll be in the race for 4th anyway.

To get to 70 points they need to win 10 and draw 2 of their remaining 12 games, if they manage that then fair play to them.

Yes we should be, absolutely they could well be within a shout soon.

If we win our next two games, we could well be sitting third.

Well i'm aroused.

It is all about us, no-one else. If we play to our potential, 4th is ours and the best the bindippers can hope for is 5th.

Yes we should.

With a very tough game for us on Sat and an easy game for them it's more than concievable we'll be only 3 points ahead.

Bit pessimistic perhaps, but a possibility nonetheless.

It's the momentum they have built which is concerning, but who is to say that will continue?

Also they are likely to go far in Europa League, meaning more strain on their squad for the prem games.

just take 1 game at a time... win that one then look at the next.
