I know a lot of fans here have a serious dislike for Sherwood, and expect him to be out the club by end of today, but am I the only one who thinks he could still be very good for the club, for a variety of reasons.

The reason for this all depends on what happens next. Some people think he will go back upstairs, which could be good as he has clearly aided in the development of our youth players, as we now have serious contenders for the first team coming through the development squad. If he can continue to bring through players like bentaleb, Kane, veljkovic, caulker, townsend etc then our youth academy can be called a massive success, and no matter your opinion on the guy sherwood deserves credit for this.

On the other hand, it is looking more and more likely he will seek a management job elsewhere, yet this can still be good for us. No matter where he goes, it is looking clear that his next job will be a step down, whether it be to lower PL team like west brom, or a championship team like Brighton. This will still be good for the club, as Sherwood will look to bring in quality that he knows, and he knows our youth setup like no other. This means we could be assured that if he came to spurs for loans for the likes of bentaleb etc we know they would get game time and the experience they need, unlike some disastrous loans we have seen, such as mason at lorient, and it would be at a decent level, unlike the Swindon lads this year.

Norwich would be a good bet. Wonder what his ego will allow. He could probably manage a lower prem team.

From what i have just read mate, i think you have failed to grasp how much Tims stock has fallen since he took the top job, he has no chance of staying on in any capacity.

As for taking players on loan, anyone who plays a cm of Siggy and Chadli can't really seriously be trusted with our kids development.

My preference would be zero contact at all. He is poison so want him out the club. Also wouldn't want any of our promising young players loaned to any club he manages as he has proved he can't coach so they won't develop.

West Ham should take him, perfect match, classless club classless man

Drop down a league or two, where the pressure and the media spotlight isn't so strong, and he could learn to be a half decent manager.

Norwich would be a good job for him. They won the Youth cup last season iirc so quite probably have some decent youngsters for him to work with and give chances to if that's what he is passionate about. You'd imagine they would have a bit of money to spend in order for him to get in some players as well. Plus he is an ex-player there.

I know how much he has fallen out with people at club, was just a suggestion. Some people still argue he could go back upstairs but I don't see it. Main point was him being a manager elsewhere could still benefit us.

The thought had occurred to me. Depending at what level he ends up I can see him hovering up a few of his former protégés, both those still on the club books, and those that have moved on. He is clearly respected by them and in many cases they would not have had careers without him, so I can see them leaping at the chance. On the other hand I should imagine Tim has a fairly encyclopaedic knowledge of young footballers who have come through other elite academies in recent years, so he might cast his net wider.

Either way I can see him, if he is allowed time, building an exciting squad of technically-gifted, primarily British players. His persistence in management can only be a good thing for the future of the national team.

This is the point I was going for. If he goes somewhere like norwich, Brighton etc I can see him trying to sign likes of mason, luongo, Pritchard, and attempt loans for the more promising players like one of bentaleb/Carroll, veljkovic etc.

Cant see Norwich taking him

They are a family club, he would severely damage their image with his outbursts, paranoia and utterly barmy comments, the guy is a loose cannon, no way Norwich would go near him imho

Good luck to him where ever he goes.

In my honest opinion, he didn't do that bad, in the slightest, was always a stop gap for something else, and never stood a chance, no matter what he did.

I even enjoyed his interviews, and thought way too much was made of what he said - bordering ridiculous in all honesty.

Yeah the odd comment was cringe worthy, but I found it refreshing from the standard bollocks you get from your typical manager - I didn't see it, or no comment :)

I honestly don't think this is the case. Granted sherwood clearly likes to talk, but i think his stint at spurs has been exacerbated, and is at an extreme, because of all the speculation since day 1. He, as well as everyone else, has known that he was a stopgap, and he's been trying to defend himself from all corners at all times. If he's at a club where he knows he is backed and supported I think we'll see him calm down. He wasn't chosen at spurs, he was a last resort...

Tim could just argue he is following the example set by the owner...

I would have enjoyed his interviews alot more if he was a goon Manager coming on TV and talking shite, slagging off his players and generally looking like a cock, but whilst he was a Spurs boss i found it embarressing and wanted it to end.

That is only the public side of things, from reports and ITK he was even more of a nightmare behind the scenes to the point several players want out, he is the English Paolo Di Canio imho

Looks like Brighton, unless West Brom actually want him.

Think it would be best for him to drop down a division and learn his trade a bit, but if he was offered West Brom he'd take it.
