Piss off Timmy,
Piss off Tim,
Piss off Timmy,
I fucked your mama's arse!

(I jest, I didn't like the guy but he did his best and I don't wish him any particular ill, just glad to be shot of him).

You're on an odd boy.

I thought that some of the abuse leveled at Sherwood was petty. I never disliked him, much less hate him, from the beginning I didn't think he had the necessary experience to help us achieve our goals. It seems he ruffled the feathers of a few players with his comments, most notably Sandro, and I think he could've handled this much better. That made me worry that he would be a catalyst for losing some of our best players and I wasn't convinced he would be able to attract adequate replacements.

Personally, I think he did alright in the job, not very good but far from disastrous. Again, I just don't think he did enough to show that he has the potential to help us achieve our aims in the medium-term. He still has a lot to learn and I don't think we have the luxury of letting him learn on the job. It wouldn't surprise me if he went on to be a half decent manager.

All that being said, I'm not overly convinced about the alternatives. Pochettino doesn't fill me with confidence and FDB has never managed in the EPL. That being said, I would probably rather have FDB and give him some time. I thought LVG would've been the man for the job, I thought he was exactly what we needed, unfortunately we missed the boat on that one (I'm assuming we could've got him signed up before the world cup and before united).

Without the resources of the other teams we need a manager who will get us punching above our weight. I'm at a stage now where I genuinely don't know where we go from here. It seems as though we might have to wait until we get the stadium built before we can start to dream of the top 4 again.

Fair point, however I do disagree with you on the extent of damage that Sherwood inflicted on the club. Many people here just can't see past the freak goals that won us games against a lot of weaker teams, but the demoralising of senior players, batshit crazy selections, lack of direction and tactics coupled with a consistent flurry of asinine comments left no recourse for the man.

As far as FDB or Poch - I wouldn't worry too much. They're both credentialed managers with experience and it's just a matter of whether they'll click with our squad or not. They've both demonstrated that they can do this quite adequately, while potentially needing to take themselves to the next level with a Spurs squad that desires the same.

Getting rid of Sherwood was the best thing we could've done.

I wouldn't necessarily say that he inflicted damage on the club, I was just worried that he could, with regard to players wanting to leave and not being able to attract new ones.

I do hope you're right about Poch and FDB.

While we're expertly fixing all of the ills within THFC, and waiting for the new appointment, how about we fans get our own house in order. I don't think anybody for one moment thought that Tim was either (a) the right long term appointment, or (b) hired on that basis. He stepped in, did ok/s*** depending on your point of view, and has gone.

Can we now get over it and start to unite as fans. The new manager has got a tough enough job as it is, let's not make it tougher still by being a bunch of puerile twats.

+1 to see this thread locked now

I think a move to Brighton would be very good for Sherwood. This will gear him up for the primetime he so craves, and hopefully he'll learn the art of professional communication with players and the press in the role of head coach. I truly wish him all the best at another club.

Bring on the Poch!

On being asked who he wants to win today (well known gooner ) Tim Sherwood replied he wanted to see Jake do well and of course Tommy Huddlestone (who should still be at Spurs)

What a ****!
