Does this go in front of a panel or something? Is it just down to a couple of peoples' opinions? I mean, if that's the case and it's not a black or white situation, what if there are non-Spurs fans involved in the decision... :\

If the appeal is denied - off to Inter
If the appeal is granted - United muscle in

Pretty sure the deal is done pending work permit. I don't think we would be that dumb to allow someone else to get him once that hurdle was passed. We already had the physical.

Something as high profile as this could go all the way up to the Home Secretary herself if she wanted to intervene - she could for instance think that denying his permit would send a message that criminals aren't welcome and exceptions won't be made for the rich.

If it goes all the way to Amber Rudd then we're fucked. She's a ****. :(
Entirely agree but hopefully she just stays out of it. Tis only a theoretical possibility. In my opinion the Tories right now would like to avoid any debate or mention of immigration or visas until they decide what to do regarding Brexit, and therefore will probably pass on turning this into a political stunt.

You really think we have an alternative lined up? With 2 days to go? No chance. Sounds like our business will end up as 2 CB's and a GK this window.

Or maybe overpay for someone like the one from Porto for 50m when we could get him for much cheaper 1, 2 months ago

It's black and white, if the paperwork is in order it is granted.

With all the information around how the fuck have you come to that conclusion?

You really think we would enter negotiations for weeks unless we were very certain he'd be allowed in

And then you're just choosing to ignore all itk stating that we are looking at attackers and have alternatives for all in case they go wrong

Seems an odd set of assumptions to make

f this happened at any of the other top 5 clubs they would get eviscerated in the press and by their respective fan bases. And rightfully so. It's inexcusable on a team that's trying to compete for a title.

You mean like Liverpool (and I rate Klopp) playing James Milner at LB pretty much all season.

As I understand it, he has signed a contact pending work permit. As soon as the permit is granted, it's done. Don't see how United could muscle in. I may have misinterpreted where the deal is at though.

Surely the HO aren't going to turn down the tax of another footballer earning decent wages?

As with everything these days, I'd assume that's the greatest detail.

Although, we announced Sanchez pending a work permit so seems fishy, but then we might just be being extra cautious. I dunno but I've booked off deadline day for this "something big"

Im worried there is something in the fact that we announced Sanchez 'subject to work permit' why wouldn't we do that with SA?.. If he hasn't actually signed a contract then we are in real danger of other clubs coming last minute

Sanchez was seen as somewhat of a formality.
