This doesn't smell like something that is going to happen to me...too many things in the way.
Still not sure he's the kind of character we want at the club. Can't see an arrogant billy big boots lasting five minutes with Poch, particularly if he'd rather be somewhere else.

To be honest I would not care if a football assaulted my gran if it meant we were in a better place to challenge for the title or success.

We all make mistakes it happens.

Have you never done anything in your life? and if you have? Are you glad people have drawn a line and got over it?.

He's young bloody hell I would even say 40% of the forum have been banged up for somehting stupid but that does not mean all of us are horrible little pricks does it?

I would even hazard a guess that you have joined in a with a horrid chant about our dero friend Mr Campbell at some point.

But that does not make you a bad person it happens we do silly things we are human.

Do not let the press is hatred of him in france cloud your judgement to what a good player he really is.

due to his criminal history... as I said, only my view.

If they can let in Alonso who is a murderer or similarly over the years there's been a few players with a dodgy history to play on our shores im sure one mistake where a police officer has apparently targetted him because he's black and a footballer he should be allowed in.

If Aurier is denied work visa how on earth did Alonso get one?

Do spanish citizens still have to apply for one?

Think its due to the EU.

As i know my local town has loads of horrible polish criminals here who have been convicted of all sorts.

Potentially a daft question but what is Aurier appealing? The conviction that he struck an officer or the punishment which carries a suspended jail term?

If this is true and Aurier can't get a work permit, Levy needs to move on and pay Pereira's release clause. Dier or Sanchez shouldn't be forced to play out of position. Trippier just isn't good enough to be a first choice fullback on a team with title aspirations. He'll get us killed against Liverpool, Man City, Real Madrid and just about every team we play with a quality left wing.

Fair enough but imo there is no way we'd be this far down the line if that conviction hadn't been overturned. There would be no point even applying for a Work Permit as we know he's already been refused entry to the UK.

Did I not read somewhere that Aurier has a French passport, that would negate the issue being technically related to a work permit, as he would also be an EU citizen.

I have probably invented it in my head.

He doesn't have one. I thiught he would as he'd been there since he was a child but he doesn't.

Hopefully we left this last minute because we already got assurance that he would be granted permission to work in this country

Time to leave this thread I think, we're back to where we were two weeks ago on this page.
