That mistake is not being made again. Much like Sanchez, this thing is being signed before he gets on a plane.
I hope your right but I fear right up until he has signed on the dotted we are vulnerable to a quick call to his agent offering to add 50k to his wages and still be at a London based cl club...

If it doesn't I hope we have a back up right back target
This thing is sealed. Levy doesn't spend the cash to get a medical done and send the signal that we're otherwise out of the RB market if he wasn't confident this thing is going through. It's no coincidence that Hercules confirmed that the appeal was successful and hours later we're hearing about a medical being done. This thing will be wrapped early next week. Sanchez had his medical earlier this week and the club anticipated the work permit to be finalized by the end of the week. Without a criminal record, Aurier's work permit should be similarly processed in a couple days.
Why next week?

Yes. Until he is contractually committed he could go anywhere. However, if Levy has learned anything, which it appears he has, he doesn't commence the medical until after the contract is signed. If a medical has been performed, I'd be willing to bet a ton of money that a contract is signed.

The work permit takes longer than a day to get. If we submitted the application today, it will likely take until Monday or Tuesday to get it issued. Because the work permit is in question more than it was for Sanchez, the club is likely to hold off with announcements until the work permit comes through.

Some people just enjoy throwing the toys out of the pram and worrying about anything and everything for the sake of it, by the look of it...

Serge Aurier underwent a medical with Tottenham Hotspur today in Paris ahead of a possible move, according to tomorrow's L'Équipe.

Just to tease you all, we were told about this when it was happening yesterday morning but asked not to leak it.

Obviously you have to take my word for it but it does mean we're now confident on another source :)

I just hope we have an alternative plan if we can't sign him for whatever reason. Between his legal situation and the Chavs and Juve lurking this deal could go south in a hurry. I prefer we sign Aurier, but a right wingback is desperately needed, irregardless if it's him or not.

I'm expecting an announcement today, signed pending work permit.
If we see that, although he won't be official for a few more days, at least we know we can't be gazzumped.

It says in that article that PSG have applied for French Citizenship for him. If that is approved he does not need a work permit as he is an EU Citizen.

Perhaps that is what we are waiting for.
