Tottenham looking to bolster squad with Fenerbahce's Semih Senturk
• Robbie Keane likely to be sold to bolster buying fund
• Jamie O'Hara expected to sign on loan to West Ham
Harry Redknapp is looking to move a number of his fringe players away from White Hart Lane, including the Republic of Ireland forward Robbie Keane, who has made only two Premier League starts this term, as he seeks to up the quality in his squad to prolong challenges in the domestic top flight and the Champions League.
Senturk has entered the final six months of his contract at Fenerbahce, through whose youth ranks he graduated, and could be available initially on loan with a view to a permanent move.
The 27-year-old has 21 caps for his country – he was particularly impressive at Euro 2008 – and has attracted interest from the Spanish clubs Malaga, Real Zaragoza and Deportivo La Coruña, though Spurs would be well placed to lure him to England. Zaragoza could yet secure Tottenham's little-used Mexico international Giovani dos Santos on loan, with Jamie O'Hara expected to move in a similar deal to West Ham United.
O'Hara, recently recovered from a serious back injury and now back in light training, admitted today that he may have to move clubs to feature regularly in the first-team having spent last season on loan at Avram Grant's Portsmouth.
"I've never wanted to leave Tottenham but there comes a point in your career if you're not playing games you've got to look at yourself and think well this is my career," the midfielder said. "I want to be playing football, I'm not one of these people that want to sit in the bench and play one in four.
"I want to go to a club where I can put some roots down and hopefully become a fan favourite and stay at a club for a few years. I don't want to be coming into clubs playing for three months, coming back. If I do go and things don't work out here at Tottenham then I'm going to be looking for somewhere where I'm going to stay for four or five years. That's something I want to do now, I don't want to be moving around all the time."
Keane is expected to move on permanently next month, with Spurs seeking a fee to give Redknapp more immediate leeway in the market rather than merely a guarantee of a transfer in the summer. That is likely to rule out a move to West Ham, bottom of the table but on the verge of securing Aston Villa's Steve Sidwell as the first of a flurry of new recruits, but Birmingham City and Aston Villa are apparently interested.
Never heard of him.
