I've deferred the last 2 on medical grounds but I'm sure the club won't offer that again this year so I will renew but not sure how often i will go.

With the number of empty seats almost guaranteeing that the game won’t be sold out within 5mins of being on member sale I’m starting to question the value of having the season ticket.

# Price isn’t too much more expensive buying individual tickets for each game
# Can miss the odd game without feeling like you’ve already paid for it (not as if tickets are ever sold on exchange)
# Only down side is not sitting with regulars (for some of them in my area that would be a positive :bag: )

If all the Conte stuff ends in tears by the summer then I can't see me renewing. It's a piece of piss getting tickets anyway and you could probably get a load half price/ free on twitter if you wait it out and just pay full price for the big games. I'm down the list for LPs anyway so it'll be a few years before I can consistently get aways, of which you can pick up a few a year on twitter anyway.

Seeing @aliyid post above and writing all that down does make it feel like there is no major benefit of having a ST anymore. The only benefit is probably having a decent chance of a cup final if we ever make that again

Curious how people are currently leaning towards renewing next season?

This is the first season I’ve started to feel a bit put out by the high prices coupled with average performances on the pitch and I’ve sold more tickets this season than any other.

I will renew next season but it’s the first time I’ve not been sure beyond that.

It is definitely a hard choice whether to continue or not and I’m asking myself the question a lot. With the fact it is so easy to pick up tickets on the exchange nowadays, I’m not sure how much need there actually is for a season ticket. Should I do that or keep up the habit of getting one.

Im definitely moving seats next season though that’s for sure. Can’t stand the people around me in the south stand where I sit.

I had a season ticket at WHL for 16 years, didn't get one at Wembley and let memebership slide one year so was over the moon to be offered one last year despite being 48567th on the list . The irony is when the new stadium opened my friends and I thought it would be near impossible to get a ticket despite increased capacity but the truth is it is now its easier than ever to get a ticket. However the ST also brings with it a sense of belonging to a club and also a good crack with old friends on match days....will have a long hard think

Covid is still having an impact on the number of people going to be honest...

Do you think so? Does anyone know how many ST holders there are now ?
Maybe not ST holders but people buying general sale tickets I would think so - the transport links are terribly busy so anyone trying any kind of social distancing wouldn't go.

This definitely would have been a case earlier on in the season.

We are ST holders and missed several matches for this exact reason.

Even when we returned, despite it being outdoors, I kept wearing a mask while watching the match during the spike of omicron cases. I'll probably stop doing that now, if the case numbers keep falling, but who knows when the next wave will come, now that mask mandates and restrictions of all kinds have been abandoned?

I find wearing masks to be problematic in public, for health-related reasons (no, I didn't want an exemption) and wearing one has made participating in the match atmosphere difficult, so the last few matches have not been especially pleasurable experiences (never mind the football...).

I'm not sure whether to keep our STs or not. I took a deferment for the pandemic season, but we've only attended just over half the matches this season and have been unable to sell any of the tickets when we haven't gone.

Whether I keep the STs or give them up will mainly depend on health and Covid considerations and whether I feel I'm wasting my money.

Completely agree - I thankfully took up the offer of deferring my ST for the last 2 seasons and the club accepted otherwise I would have been majorly out of pocket.

The empty seats has been made worse by the crackdown on passing the card to friend like before. I'm expecting to renew next year and be exactly like you are - out of pocket for the games that I can't go to and won't be able to sell them.

Doubt I will to be honest. No games on a Saturday, midweek games too late for my 8 yr old and we've had to miss a few of the 2pm Sunday games as it often clashes with his football. On top of that, the way they price matches means there are no savings with a ST. Can't always sell the tickets either so end up giving away tickets.

Looks like you're spot on.

One of my fellow admin team on a subscription service I use just offered me a ticket for the 7th. His words were "I’m moving seats for the game mate so I don’t wanna be out of pocket.".

Fucking gutted.

This is me as well but without the 8yr old. Missed so many games due to games being moved and then clashing with work and had no joy this season getting shot of them on the exchange. Will probably revert back to a membership and pick and choose the games.

It’s my first season as a STH and I’ve found it an almighty slog so far. I live in Brighton so the fact the majority of games have been at 4-30 on a Sunday, or midweek, has been difficult. The fact the football has been pretty dour hasn’t helped. I don’t know if I’m going to renew at £1300 whilst I have two toddlers.

45 mins into Clapham junction for you usually (then 45 minutes to the ground) although I’m expecting that the line isn’t running efficiently most match days?

I don’t know if anyone is thinking the same as me but with regards to the winter WC changing the schedule. I have a feeling there may be more midweek games next season. The problem is you won’t know the fixture list until after you have to renew.
