This south Stand will be iconic. Up there with some of the finest stands in world football. The sitting down, shhing and tutting is going be truly unique and groundbreaking, and all in the largest single stand in world football. Marvellous

It's quite laughable. If the dozens of stewards could barely get us to sit down how is one old git gonna do it?

Que chants of "stand up, if you can't see much"

They will all sell. Let's not all get stupid and think they won't and we can all have a go at THFC.
We're on phase 3 of 8 whereby only a fraction of actual season ticket holders have been able to renew. 5 more phases to go and then there are 50-60 THOUSAND people on a waiting list to offer them to.

I would suspect at least half will be gone by the time we end phase 8. Did we clarify how many actual tickets in this class were available? I heard it wasn't as many as 1,882

The club have already been selling a load of premium tickets, boxes etc - someone who used to sit near me at WHL bought theirs last year for around £3,000. With those premium tickets with heated seats, tunnel club etc I don't see where this extra 1,000+ people are coming from to swoop in for those tickets. Apart from a complimentary lunch and a private bar (which isn't free), those 1882 seats offer nothing.

I may be wrong, but just don't see it happening.

Continue to throw insults about my intellect all you like pal; it makes you sound even stupider, if such a thing was possible.

I'd love to know your thought process when you purchased that seat.

"Well, I did always sit in the West Stand at WHL because that produced an atmosphere that was perfect for me, but, seeing as I am not getting any younger and I miss the good old days, i'll sit with the younguns in the south stand and talk about fidget spinners and sex and what not."

In reality, you'll get called every name under the sun for sitting down and probably get bullied into standing up; essentially getting cucked by our own fans, the only sight of Harry Kane you'll get is the name on the back of the fan's shirt in front of you, accompanied by their rancid builder's bum, and if you ask anyone to sit down, they'll tell you where to go.

Enjoy your seat, though.

Where has this notion of "everyone will stand in the south stand" come from? Obviously in an ideal world, it gets turned into the safe standing section but it honestly wouldn't surprise me if the stewards try to get people to sit down when standing up...

You kind of get the thinking behind the 1882 package. Reminds me of my traveling days when you used to see the rich kids in hostilrs, Just slummin it for the experience. But then they’d go and have diner in some 5 star hotel lol.

I’ve learnt somethind today. I actually thought it was illegal to stand at football grounds but now realise that is not the case and it is actually a rather grey area, but certainly not illegal. Given this is the case, would it not have made sense for the club to be clear that they were going to police this strictly in certain stands and not in others?

It’s all very well saying people should know not to buy tickets in the south Stand if they want to sit, but not everyone goes on forums so might not necessarily know where people are likely to stand. In fact the people most likely to want to sit down are exactly the sort of people (older) that are less likely to come on forums. Is that ageist?! Apologies if so.

I’ve had a season ticket at Spurs for 14 years and genuinely didn’t know there were areas in the ground where people stood for the whole game until we moved to Wembley and were put next to people who stood the whole game. I think it’s risky to expect us to police it ourselves.

The materials the club has put out have been very very clear!

Have you ever been in the south lower at WHL?
People sit down for about 30 seconds after about 10 minutes of work from the stewards, then we get a throw in at the other end and every one is up again!

The upper wasn't quite as prolific but there is no upper technically in the new South Stand.

Here's a question for the old stadium regulars...

If I buy a ticket this year, what happens upon renewal next year? Example;
I treat myself to one of the pricier tickets this season but might not fancy spending that much next season?
Do they always do windows for purchase to offer first dibs to longer standing ticket holders?

This season at Wembley and next at NWHL are both very unique scenarios. I'm more interested in the renewal process year on year and how it works, especially if you wish to down/upgrade your season ticket?

Upgrading is not really a problem if availability is there, but the club are saying they won't facilitate changes.

The reality is, they are just saying that to keep admin low, but I think upgrading will be easy enough. You won't get them to admit it though.

Downgrading is a different story. They generally don't really like the idea of anyone offering them less money when they can basically say, no, pay up or lose your place and somebody else can have it.

What’s the highest row in the south stand people would go before it starts to get a bit ‘up in the gods’?

I do want to be in the South stand as I feel it’s going to be quite iconic.

Debating whether to move slightly to a corner view (still south stand) to get a row in the 50’s

Do people think a slight corner view is good? I keep changing my mind!

I’m in row 22. Didn’t want to go higher than low 30s else it looked too far away for me.

Very very clear about what?

I’m not really one for reading, apart from the tosh people come out with on this forum. I did have a quick look at the booklet they sent out though and noted something about safe standing in the future. Was there anything else in there about how they will police standing in seating areas?

I hope they do police it. I’ve always been a stickler for the rules. Won’t matter to me though in the West Stand.

There’s another argument in all this sit/stand in the south stand. It is going to be the ‘home’ end where the team (mostly) kicks towards in the second half. It is one complete stand behind the goal, lots of fans like to sit behind the goal. The other stand behind the goal is mainly away fans and family (12 blocks), 11 blocks where ST holders may have to move for cup games and 1 block unavailable for ST. So if you are a ST holder who prefers the view behind the goal what are you supposed to do?
I have, with 3 friends, chosen the south stand and we all intend to sit, I have read many others who say the same.
We have chosen the corner and in 3rd and 4th row so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t sit with the first row being for the registered disabled and one other row in front.
I hate the attitude that if you sit you can’t/won’t/don’t possibly contribute to the atmosphere! So by all means stand in the area future proofed for standing but leave the rows in upper for those who like the view behind the goal and like to sit. We have as much right to do as we want as you.
But don’t complain when the atmosphere is shite. Single tier stand...wall of noise.... erm no some killjoys want to sit and will text a helpline and f**k everyone else. Levy builds a blinding stand similar to Dortmund’s yellow wall and some people want to sit in the middle......
Oh well we can all listen to the away fans pissing themselves singing “is this a library?”

If I didn’t want to stand then I wouldn’t have bought a ticket in the south stand. I suspect 99% of people are of the same mindset. If I wanted to sit I would have chosen one of the other three. I’m amazed if the majority of people don’t realise that.

Whether we will be able to or not is another matter. I guess it depends on the council, wasn’t it them who threaten to close stands if there was standing up.

There's 2 blocks in each level of the North which are available for ST holders, not family areas, and where you won't ever be moved for cup games. They all have very good availability, so they'd make sense.

Hopefully it's mainly standing in the South and if that annoys the occasional person the club offers them the chance to move to the North. It's been done at other clubs and I expect there'll be more than enough room to do it since the North is the least popular choice so far.

I mean seriously, we're not primary school children. Some people want to stand at football, others want to sit. There's one end where people are likely to stand, and one where they're not. Where to book seems pretty obvious.

I'm certain this has been answered but hope someone could clarify. Are the club making all seats available from day 1 or are they reserving some to allow all phases the chance to purchase the cheaper ones?

Would defeat the purpose of giving fans priority if they kept any seats back...

Useful thread as I didn't know that lots of people stood up all game. Can't be doing with that so will keep out of the South stand

My understanding is you just keep renewing your seat and ask ti change if you want but choice will be limited

I thought treat my self pay £1200 but then next season its £1400 and so on....
