I’m less concerned about him not having major football experience due to his background at executive level of sporting clubs and olympics etc. what always concerns me about these types of appointments is when it’s a complete outsider to the club. These sorts of positions are responsible for overall club philosophy and culture, you just have to hope that they properly understand the heritage of whats there and what the fans connection is.

You could argue that those at that level within the club currently don't understand the clubs heritage and what the fans connection is, so he can't be any worse in that respect!

You’re not wrong there. Although i think they know and just choose to ignore it

Just hope that Munn brings the City Football Group mindset to THFC , if increased growth means paying City type wages to entice better quality players then good, cynics will say it's an ENIC ploy to make more for them.

This whole idea that people need to have experience at a certain level before they’re worthy of a role at that level is ridiculous. It’s as if some of you have never had a promotion before…

Waiting to see how individuals get on at other clubs before we pull the trigger is both massively arrogant, and part of the reason we’ve missed out in the past.

Call me old fashioned but I’d call it common sense

On the other hand probably best not listen to the supporters over in Oz saying what a terrible job he did

Think all the frustration with Levy is fueling the feelings that the appointment of Scott Munn is some sort of patsy yes man move, designed to fool the fans.
I don't know anything about him, but CFG identified a presence in China as crucial to their continued global growth, both financially & technology. Whatever people's view on the owners of City, CFG are probably the most progressive football company regarding the use of technology regarding scouting, training, performance analysis, fan experience, marketing etc..
Presumably Levy & Co have watched CFG's expansion & identified Munn as a person with top level contacts in Asia & good experience within a major football organisation. Hopefully this guy can push Spurs on over the coming years, wouldn't write him off before he starts.

I totally agree and have wanted to say this as well. To be honest Ive actually wanted to write this about DoF and manager search as well.

There has to be a potential DoF or Manager out there that's hungry to take a step up, prove their worth, with new ways of thinking.

Best of luck to Scott and hope he can help organize this shit show 😂

On running Melbourne City: "Our aspirations are to win trophies and play good football, but we are under no illusions, winning it every year is very difficult. We want to be competitive and always pushing for silverware."

Hard to argue with that philosophy.

The last bit sounds exactly like Levy every single season - we’ll be ‘fighting on all fronts’ next…

Talk is cheap

Couldn't agree more. That's why it's best just to wait and see. Personally, I'm neither excited nor underwhelmed.

I can’t say I’m overly convinced from everything Ive read thus far but it really isn’t enough to get a complete picture. I’m hoping the athletic or someone does an in-depth look at him. Time will tell if he is the answer to our prayers.

True - but isn't this the start of the opposite of just talk?

We want Levy to step away from the football side of the business. The addition of Munn sounds exactly like that.

Only time will tell if Munn is a good appointment, but, my perspective is this is a good start.

It's a good sign but until we see evidence of levy actually stepping away then I'll continue to remain sceptical. 20 years of evidence suggests he isn't going to simply give up power from a few fan chants.

Wonder if he told Daniel that in the interview all he neede to say was my aspirations is to get Spurs top 4 and he would sell the dream to Levy.

Reckon he is coming to increase the value of THFC

Scott was installed as Melbourne City FC Chief Executive Officer in the Club’s inaugural year in 2010, and in nine years with the Club he drove substantial growth across the sporting and commercial arms of the organisation

Really? Melbourne City are terrible from a commercial perspective. They have McDonalds giving away tickets for free - and still nobody turns up to watch probably the best team in the A-League.

Their kit sponsorship deals are on the back of Man City’s. Their biggest claim to fame is that they are Melbourne Victories closest rival. (They share the same stadium).
