Very ignorant, Moscow and Donetsk... When's the last time you checked out a map?
Moscow and Donetsk are really a case of where do you draw the line. It feels fairly commonly accepted now that the line goes through Istanbul, across the Black Sea and Caspian sea to the Ural mountains and up from there, so Moscow and Donetsk count as Europe then.

Astana in Kazakhstan is a better example along with Tel Aviv.

Last time I checked, Russia and Ukraine were not part of Europe.

Edit; OK, I don't need any more geography lessons. Last time I checked was about 40 years ago FFS!

Tel Aviv, Donetsk, Moscow etc aren't in Europe either and have been competing for years.
Ukraine and Russia are in Europe

Israel was allowed to play in Europe because the Arab countries were boycotting it and so it could not participate in Asian competitions.

And Kazakhstan were allowed into UEFA as a former Soviet state I believe. The other stans south of them chose Asia.

Doesn't mean the Saudis won't try or that UEFA won't be thinking that why not take steps to make the CL global. Primarily just to fuck with FIFA.

I find it funny that it's always Player X is going to the Saudi League. It's never about the club because no one actually gives a shit about any of the clubs.

Not unexpected really, I'm sure their owners are keen to promote all things Saudi over here and the rest of Europe.

As long as there’s no public beheadings at half time on the centre circle at SJP then I couldn’t really give a fuck.

On a different/similar note, I wonder how Geordie Shore would go down in Saudi Arabia?

If any of the mentioned things come to be true (Saudi team in the CL etc) I will just switch off from football altogether, cancel sky/TNT. Same if we get taken over by anything to do with with them, however I see that as highly unlikely given our background with the Jewish community.

Any footballer taking the money is showing their true colours as well although I hold out hope that someone will turn around after a year or so and donate some of their wage to LGBT charities

Another players graveyard, and no one gives a fuck.

I've a feeling a lot of these players will find it harder getting out of their contracts, when they want to leave, than it was getting into them.

If these teams have an unhappy player that wants out, they wont care, they'll just continue to pay him and replace them with another player.

I think it's going to get far worse than that.

Saudi are not splashing a load on players for no reason. I think it's all part of a greater plan which involves them (and the other oil states) buying as much ownership in PL clubs as possible and eventually having enough leverage to form their own "UEFA" and create a super league.

This would be financially lucrative for all clubs involved (so clubs from Italy, Spain would jump at the chance) and it would allow them to include the Saudi clubs into their competitions too.

Sadly I think this process has already started and I'd wager that this could all be in place within the next 10 years.
