Barkley could stay at Everton and learn from the great master of getting caps and stinking in major tournaments. We could get gazumped by Chelsea for eleventy million pounds but he would likely end up at Qarabag, Vitesse and Malaga in the first three years. He could be a great signing if he lives up to his potential here. He could be a disaster because he never gets his head right or he gets long term injured again. One thing and only one thing is certain some one on this forum will complain about it from now until ten seconds before the sun explodes.

If a genie said he'd add 2 inches onto ur member for the next 5 years, but the catch is you have to wait 2 months to use it, you wouldn't say no.

Can we finally put the "signs after 100 pages" bollox to bed now, it's proved completely wrong and I for one am sick of this old wives tale being mooted as factual data every year.

If anything after 100 pages we should just assume we aren't signing them which would actually be historically more accurate.

Be funny if he now signs today just as we hit 200 pages ;-)

Our lack of attacking bench options, plus the sheer number of fixtures requiring rotation doesn't worry you?
I'm more worried about getting a pacey option of genuine top quality.

If we add Barkley great, but I'm not getting the desperation for a player who couldnt hold down a place in Evertons team. A player that is injured and has a history of injurys, and a player that needs a hell of a lot of work to become the real deal.

He has only missed 15 of Everton's last 152 PL games over the past 4 seasons.

In the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons he played in 74 of their 76 PL games (68 starts, 6 subs). Only Lukaku and Williams played more minutes for Everton than Barkley last season.

That's not a player plagued with injuries or struggling to get into the side.

I won't disagree with you on that front. I think we need both though.
