The number 8 shirt is up for grabs. At this stage in the season, I'm welcoming Barkley to the club and I think he will fit in perfectly

Hopefully he'd move the ball with a bit more pace and urgency than we saw yesterday. Plus it would mean we wouldn't have to play Sissoko, so I'm all for that.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sissoko move on once Barkley lands. There's less need for him in AM, plus the possibility of him covering RWB is less likely now Walker-Peters has shown he's not out of his depth.
The funds Sissoko would free up, assuming he's sold and not loaned, could see a genuine RWB come in, or perhaps that attacking player we've been looking to add.

Will risk still getting him?
I would bet we won't hear anything until an official recovery timeline is out. Only reason you buy an injured player in the last year of his contract is because you want to avoid the january bidding war. Not so sure our club is keen for another long term injured player.

First groin, now hamstring. :p

Looks like we'll have to find a new plan to cover for Dele in the early CL matches.

So fucking typical. Apparently our no.1 AM target gets a groin and then hamstring injury, our no.1 RB target has somehow previously unknown third-party ownership issues, Balde seems a little odd, to say the least. Apparently.

The groin injury he had was major, then he appeared in training 3 weeks later. People just love a saga.
