They are such a mouthpiece aren't they? Constantly bringing up Dier also. Apparently been saying Kane should leave today due to lack of ambition also. We don't have many friends in the media it seems...

Hoping this reaction means its a non-starter to Utd (y)

People said much the same thing about Modric when he left too, I remember loads of people posting stats showing he'd had less asssists than so and so, and that we wouldn't miss him as much as some thought we would.

People will say the same thing about Eriksen if he leaves eventually.

It's only natural to try and look on the bright side of things and convince yourself that things won't be too bad. But losing a key first team player is never a good thing.

Especially if he goes to a rival. And I'm pretty sure with their ambitions, Everton would now consider us a rival.
Carrick before him as well. It's just what football fans do.

I'd probably swap Barkley and Eriksen in that formation.

Then when you add in Son as an off the bench option things are looking pretty strong, not to mention if we sign another attacker and Lamela returns.
Son, Lamela, Dier, Winks, Davies... Not to mention the as yet unrealised potential of Nkoudou, Janssen, Onomah...

But we don't have any bench options, waaaaaaa!

Talksport, have since day one had the same agenda, it's all about winding up fans and getting them to phone in. It's very much about sensationalism and facts very much take a back seat. Now it is possible Man Utd might be interested but the amount of BS that station spews in order to grab listeners attention is phenomenal.

I will just add If the rumour is true then it's the first I have heard of it, and my stuff on Barkley is not coming from either Spurs or Everton. ;)

Durham on Drivetime has to be the worst for winding fans up and provoking them to phone/text in.

I'm guessing it's coming from Jim White, via his close personal friend Farad Moshiri, the same Moshiri who benefits from attempting to coax Levy into buying now at an inflated price.

So wait, we have a sell on for Gylfi. Which means Everton are spending enormous money on Barkley's replacement, some of which goes to us and we then buy Barkley off them at much less than they pay for Gylfi, with their own money.

*DL beats off furiously*

I thought the usual situation wth sell on clauses was that the percentage was of the transfer fee over and above the sum the player moved for.

So, if we sold Siggy to Swansea for £20 million, the sell on clause would be 10% of the new transfer to Everton over and above that £20 million. If hypothetically he goes to Everton for £45 million, we would be entitled to 10% of £25 million, or £2.5 million in that scenario.

That said, it's clear as mud how much we sold Siggy to Swansea for, and there are even claims it was a swap deal including Ben Davies. The actual fee Swansea paid for Siggy may be as low as £10 million, and we haven't seen the precise language of the contractual sell on clause.

Knowing Levy as we do, I'm sure the Siggy sell on clause is a factor in our financial negotiations with Everton over Barkley.

Forget Nkoudou and Janssen. We should sign 2 new players who also need a year to settle and start the cycle again

Didn't we swap Gylfi for Vorm? So that the fee was effectively 0. Thus fudging Vorms former club over, seeing as they had a sell on clause for him.
