Ooohh. A very interesting rumour coming out of Spain regarding Soldado.

Spurspanyol @spurspanyol · 18m
According to Cope (Radio), Soldado has already agreed a move to Atletico Madrid for next season.

Spurspanyol @spurspanyol · 16m
No fee is mentioned but it would suggest most of our outlay would be recouped (with Diego Costa leaving, they have the money).

Spurspanyol @spurspanyol · 15m
He's apparently given the go ahead to start work on his house in Madrid (still has one) as well. Could just be a holiday? Big rumour.

Hmm if we can get our money back take it. But my heart would bleed. We waited so long for a striker like him and it just don't work out.

Most important: Another big name striker has to join us!!

Soldado to Atletico
Costa to Chelsea
Lukaku to Spurs

This exactly... I so wanted him to be the new best striker in the country ahead of Suarez & Co

It would be a shame if he went but, like Lloris, I wouldn't blame him.
Seemed like a really nice guy, he tried his hardest and it just hasn't worked. If moving back to Spain gets him going again, then as long as we get our money back, I don't mind.

Shame if he goes as I would love for him to prove his critics wrong, and under the right manager in the right system he could flourish.

Saying that, given his age then if we could get most of our money back then I guess it would be silly not to take it.

I just hope this doesn't burn Levy's fingers when it comes to £20m+ players. I'd hate to think this puts him off ever spending that kind of money again.

Daniel Levy player exchange working again I see. I understand if it's a good offer but we are never going to have a settled team if we keep selling and replacing.

We might make more money but it'll only work out for the worse in the long run when we aren't successful.

He is a proven player in Spain and Diego Simeone will no doubt bring the best out of him. He will easily score ~20 goals for Atletico if he goes there.

Want nothing more than for him to succeed but we'd be nuts to turn down 20m+ considering he'll be 29 this month and we can't even really rely on him to be the main guy next year.

Really like Soldado and would be a shame to see him go as his class is obvious IMO but his confidence seems shot over here so it might be for the best all round if we can recoup most of the fee

But then where does this stop? It's similar with Paulinho going to the Chavs. As soon as we get good offers we sell and then before we know it we've sold 4 or 5 first team players that need to be replaced. That's not mentioning the players who aren't good enough that need to go as well. Making wholesale changes every fucking season isn't a sustainable way to manage a football team.

How about we keep the squad together for once, get shut of only the dross and sign just a few reinforcements at the back?

I understand the need for it occasionally because we have financial constraints but there needs to be a balance between stability and being opportunists in the transfer market. We already have a squad with enormous potential, we don't need to fiddle about with it yet again and cause another transition season.

Personally I would like to see all of this years new players given another season to see how they are with a years PL experience under them, but I could see the attraction (especially for Levy) in getting most of his money back on a very expensive 29 year old who might not make it here.

I seriously doubt that AM will pay £20m plus. On the one hand they say that Soldado was too much for them last year but this year it's ok as they will have Costa money. I call BS.

They'll probably offer Levy £10m and Levy will tell them to jog on I presume
