Also, if we want an English defender that is physically strong but has difficulties turning, either stick with Michael Dawson or bring back Caulker. They all offer similar things. Dawson a bit more steady at this point (hardly) and Caulker still young but has his issues.

Stones or Gomez

I'd take him but on the condition that it's a pay per play arrangement, don't want a gormless Rio warming the bench picking up £90k per week

We already have Dawson...

Rio has QPR written all over him...

Those who are saying he'd be an upgrade on Dawson - get your heads out of your arses. He suffers exactly the same shortcomings of age as our Captain - he would be a like-for-like almost, and with that in mind, why would he even want to come to a club where so many fans treat aging talent like muggy wankers.

Dawson bleeds lillywhite, gives 100% even if that's only 50% of what's needed for the guy he's up against, regardless of ocassion, yet so many of you give him an absolute world of shit.

Keep Dawson, let Rio go to QPR (where we all know he's going to get winks and twitches from) and f*ck all you's who give Dawson stick.

'Arry has no problem opening Tony Fernandes' wallet and chucking stupid money at players.

Let's hope Rio prefers the Filthy Lucre to the Glory of wearing the Famous Cockerel on his chest.....

I think it must be an error, and they forgot that Harry doesn't manage us anymore. Rio is surely QPR bound.

I hope this isn't true, but you can understand why the club might be interested, trying to address lack of leadership and character at the club.

There didn't seem to be much evidence of leadership and character at Man U last season, however!

the only reason i would consider Rio is fir his leadership attributes which will help the team, not necessarily his game play.

we lack true leaders which was evident last season. Just the same reason gallas, parker, and brad contributes to the team.

Hopefully this will put this one to bed, he's a friend of my family. Spoke to him in Portugal on the weekend past while he was staying in his new house. Was going to Spurs had Dim stayed. Told me he is going to West Ham or QPR now but this was before QPR got promoted. I fully expect him to go to West London now. Feel really good now. This is the only piece of ITK I've ever had. Or likely to ever have for that matter!
