I don't really know why I am posting this but just felt like I should. Today I attended the funeral of a friend and true Spurs fanatic (Gordy), after a short illness. Like the rest of us he had some major ups and downs due to our fantastic Club. Seeing him today getting laid to rest along with his treasured Spurs top it really hit home the special bond that Tottenham Hotspur creates between people. Sure, Spurs do my head in but they have also given me some of my best friends. Anyway I just thought that I should let my fellow Spurs fans know that we have lost a real gem today and also some advise, just take football for what it is, enjoy the ride as best you can because you don't know what the future holds for you. Oh and COYS!!!

I lost an uncle last month and he was a true Liverpool supporter. he always rubbed it in when he could and he had the last laugh this season (it's a shame for him not to see the end they are having). Football is a strange thing. We change jobs, friends, houses and more or less everything else in our lives- but not our football team. Gordy RIP- I never met you but you will be missed - from another Spurs nut

I just hope and pray that there is a little Spurs pub up in the clouds where we can all meet and get the ump over our beloved football club. RIP to your friend mate

We need more posts like this to keep things in perspective. It's nice that he was buried with his Spurs top. Thank you.

Condolences, may Gordy RIP.

I would like to see true Spurs fans who die honoured by an RIP message on the big screens at WHL and that could be a lovely tribute to your friend if they would allow it.

Sorry to hear of your loss mate. My condolences to you and his family.

My best friend of whom I've known since my first day at nursery is the reason why I've supported this great club. I love this club a lot but nowhere as much as I love my friends.

A good friend of mine lost his wife to cancer this week. She was 39. Tracy was a beautiful woman and a wonderful mother. The last time my friend and I watched football together we were getting into heated arguments about the game (he's a Utd supporter). she told us we were idiots, to grow up and realise that's it's only a game. She walked into the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of scotch, put it on the table and said that here was something we could agree on.

Thanks @ARMASPUR for a great opening post which I can deeply relate to.

RIP Gordy and Tracy and everyone else who has left this earth too soon.
