Our record away to them is pretty awful since I started supporting spurs I can only remember 2 wins. A 2-1 win in mid 90s which was basically a reserve match because of injuries for us and I think they had a cup final in a few days iirc and the 3-2 match a few years back.
2 wins in at least 20 years (too young to remember 80s and early 90s) is a shocking record considering we play there every year.
It's about time we put that right starting tomorrow

Can't see us winning there this season. We'll be good to get a draw.

Why? Seems like a good time to play them to me, they have a few injuries and we are on a good run.
I'm sure I'll regret saying this this time tomorrow but I think we might sneak a win

What we still lack is mental strength and guile/creativity to win hard games.
We've got the rest of the foundations laid down but we aren't at that point yet where we can kill opposition off by killing the game both from a goal scoring aspect (guile /creativity/ability) and from a flow of game aspect (mental strength and domination/control of the ball).
The way Chelsea of old played up till last season is something I would love us to replicate. When they were winning they had so much authority of the ball that opposition couldn't do anything.
Until we have those kinds of qualities we'll still be stuttering in my opinion.

Yeah I agree with most of that but in a one off match we can beat anyone in England if we play as good as we can and have a bit of luck

I think one of game have the talent to beat anyone if luck goes our way, but I am not sure we have the mentality to win away at Arsenal.

I remember a 1-0 at the library in 94 iirc.
Popescu?

You've got to consider how far ahead of us they were from 98 until about 6 years ago.
They were literally in a different league and it's hardly a surprise we didn't win there much.
It's the same at old Trafford and Stamford bridge in the same period of time isn't it?

It's only Stamford bridge we still have a lingering record at now though which shows how much we've progressed.

You only have to go back a few weeks to realize form and injury plays no part in results.

We were on a good run when we played liverpool, who were having a bad run and had a huge injury list, but they ended up controlling the match and result finished 0-0.

Our record was worse until we beat them 3-2! No matter what the form guide says over 10 games or 20 years, who cares when we just beat the Gooners?

I hate when these 'haven't won away in X years' things come up.

A few years ago it was 'haven't beaten United in 23 years'.

Then we beat them and it was 'haven't beaten United at Old Trafford in 28 years'.

Then we beat them at Old Trafford and it's become 'have only beaten United twice in X years' etc etc.

The same shits been said about Arsenal and City.

1 - who gives a fuck?
2 - it's no coincidence these 'records' only exist against the top teams - of course we've hardly beaten Arsenal away a couple of times in years - they're one of the top teams of the last 25 years and hardly any teams have beaten them at all in that time.

It's pundit bollocks which doesn't mean anything and does my head in. It's just soundbites to fill airtime.

Ill take a draw which means we still only lost one game all season! I think most the players and managers will take the same as well. It's the same squad as last year apart from Cech and we drew, so why can't we do it again?

We rarely turn up there even when we had better teams 5 win in 35 years and I've see them all.
Hazards goal was beautiful and we had half the north bank.Roberts giving them a two fingered salute in 84.

I give a fuck and it has nothing to do with the pundits as I barely watch the chat anymore. I hate losing to them home or away , league cup, fa cup, league match or kick about over hackney marshes.
Fair point that they have been a better side than us over a long time but in the last 10 or so years the gap has closed as they have finished 3/4 and we have finished 4/5/6 so not a big difference that our away form at there place suggests. I wager man city's away record in the premiership at Man U before the oil money came is better than ours at arsenal and the gap in quality between Man U and city at the time was massive

Liverpool didn't control the match if anyone was on top it was us IMO

It's poor, but really only the last three or four years are relevant. Even then, we've changed 5 players from last season.
