I am not sure you can give anyone the MOTM award for the match yesterday.
It was a real group effort, a grind for much of the match.

For everything MoTM worthy, the same player made mistakes that on another could have been punished.... Lloris, Sanchez and Aurier all made mistakes that were nearly costly, but also were brilliant at other moments.

Lo Celso was very good, but caught occasionally not tracking the run for the 1-2 passes City liked to play between our lines.

Moura and Son and Bergwijn all want to run with the ball and right now and lack a bit of guile that Dele is supposed to bring but he looked busy the first ten minutes then dropped off (though he still ran 9km and that challenge on him was nasty!).

Winks was industrious and probably had one of his best games, certainly for a while, though other than getting the City player sent off he didn't do anything of real note in either direction.

The point being no one player was flawless, yet no one player left anything in the changing rooms either. I felt everyone was commited, everyone tried to execute the game plan, often cautious (meaning Moura was left to it up front on occassion), looking for balls into dangerous areas/space and looking to hurt City in particular areas without leaving us exposed to the obvious qualities.

So MoTm for me was the whole team. Collectively produced a fine display and helped each other out when mistakes were made (Lloris saved Aurier, Aurier daved Sanchez, Toby save Lloris etc...)
I gave my vote to Winks but you are right and it was a great team effort yesterday. Who did Sky give their MOM too?

Lloris 8 - Typical hugo, great saves that kept us in the game but several moments of madness which he was lucky not to be punished for.

Aurier 5 - As usual one step forward, two steps back. Looks likely to give a penalty away every time he makes a challenge in the box, but aside from that he had a decent game. Problem is, that's a pretty big aside.
Toby 7 - Cleared off the line when Lloris and the rest of the defence went walkabout. One of his better recent performances.
Sanchez 5 - Erratic. Lucky not to be punished when he gave the ball away in the first half and equally lucky not to score an own goal in the dying seconds. But at other times he did well
Tanganga 8 - Continues to impress, even when playing out of position. Spent most of the game pinned back by some of the best attacking midfielders in the league but coped admirably.

Winks 8 - Among his best performances of the season. Worked his backside off and caused the red card with a driving run.
Lo Celso 7 - Some nice touches, link-up play and tackles, but also spent long periods chasing shadows. I think he'll work best in a three man midfield.

Son 6 - Yes he scored (via a deflection) but this was another below-par performance. Playing him on the left didn't work. Seemed lacking in confidence and most of what he tried didn't come off.
Dele 5 - A typical Dele performance, albeit he did get clattered by Sterling early on. Struggled to have any impact on the match.
Bergwijn 7 - Fantastic finish showed a glimpse of what we can expect when he's fully integrated. Some nice moments in the first half but, other than his finish, was out of the game in the second. Came off with cramp.

Moura 6 - Tireless worker but didn't get a lot of service. Rarely threatened. Son should play up front while Harry is out

---
Ndombele 7 - A very encouraging cameo including an assist for the second goal. Can't wait until he's back in the starting XI
Dier 6 - Came on to hold what we have. Did okay.
Lamela 7 - Thought he did well after coming on.

Very harsh on Sanchez. In a game where he was required to defend against almost relentless pressure, you mark him down to a 5 for an errant pass and a deflection, then give Dier a 6?

Struggling to see your logic if I’m honest.

exactly, playing dele as a #10 when we are playing 3in cm would be counter productive, the only option is that he plays as one of the front 3 (ideally play on the side we have our attacking fullback so he can drift in)
Why does the concept of a three inch central midfielder remind me of Spinal Tap?

Winks for me. Was wondering if his confidence and form might dip under Jose but he was fantastic yesterday. Really pleased for the lad.

GLC & Tanganga also looked great.

Agreed. He kept a clean sheet against one of the best teams in the world. He wasn't flawless but I thought he was a better option to pick that Jan with his pace.
