Lloris my MOM - Mason a close 2nd

Credits to Soldado, Eriksen, Chadli

A bit disconcerting at times as I kept thinking that the light blue was us! (Last season's away strip)

The Rose of old turned up for the first 75 minutes unfortunately

Agreed that both Capoue and Lamela be replaced as both were having poor games

Eriksen being on form should have taken the penalty IMO

Bad result but don't feel as disheartened as the last time, probably because no expectations

Gave it to Mason, but Standouts were; Eriksen, Soldado (sadly the penalty miss will be the most remembered thing by some) and Lloris, with good moments from Chadli too.

I gave it to Hugo who was top class again today. But it was close for Mason. He's not played more than 5 first team games and didn't look out of place, moved the ball forwards and looks like he could be really special

Lloris, Eriksen and Mason were all great today, really good performances from them. Mason was so unlucky not to score but I love his driving runs forward looking to join in with the attack and I love how Poch has faith in him. Soldado was very good up until the penalty miss, it's a shame that he didn't convert it as it would've changed the game.

Fazio starting today was an odd one. I don't think he has the experience for this league yet and him and Kaboul lack pace and couldn't keep up with Aguero, then again, not really sure who can to be honest. He needs more time to settle into the EPL, but this is not the game for it. Next week against Newcastle would've made more sense. Harsh to see red, but silly to give away the pen.

Lamela and Capoue have been good this season, showed a lot of promise and played well this season so far, but struggled today. Poch was right to sub them off. Capoue couldn't keep up with the pace of the game and Lamela was trying too much, although he did well in the link up for Eriksen's goal.

Ultimately, we lost away to title contenders. The scoreline flattered them as we were in the game up until the pen miss and the sending off. They had a penalty that should never has been and Lampard was offside blocking Lloris' view for the first. Plus, the sending off hurt. They've got a much stronger squad than ours and yet, despite the scoreline, we really threatened at times and were win it for the majority of the game. The pen miss and Aguero were the real differences today. Verdict: still a work in progress, but promising signs after only 8 league games in charge. On to Newcastle now.

Hugo, brill,,enjoy him while you can 9
Dier, good positioning in the main unfair to judge given Lamelas lack of help 6
Rose, casual, terrible header leading to the effective ending of our chance 5
Kaboul, awful, coming to hate his stupid grin, 3
Fazio, steady, but stupid tug for the red and deserved marching orders 6
Capoue, inconsistent, sloppy, slow on the turn, not top class 5
Mason, thrilled he's come through, clever, cares, rapidly improving all round game 9
Eriksen, excellent movement and technique, thanks Olsen for putting a rocket up his arse 8
Chadli, worked really hard, good skills and strength 8
Lamela, desperate for him to do well but he really is a liability at times, little boy lost 4
Soldado, clever interplay, put himself about, can be lethal from EARLY delivery 7

Dembele, offers a lot more than Cap, good ball retention 7
Townsend, did ok in the circumstances 6

Poch, pray he doesn't think His new captain is undroppable, full backs badly exposed today 5

Team ethic overall pretty good, but only Mason got in the refs face, we really must protest with more passion

Now for the fat bastard who ran Aguero very close for their mom. Totally unfit in every sense to run a game in the prem.

Harsh score line. First goal Lampard clearly offside. Second goal never a penalty. Soldado should've scored his penalty. Red card totally over the top. Awful ref. We had enough chances. Narrow defeat would've been fair. 2-1 or 3-2.

Lloris was pretty superb, nobody could have prevented any of the goals.

Dier was generally solid but for one moment. Offered nothing going forward but he is a center back. Considering how good the opposition were, he was fine.

Fazio probably shouldn't have made his debut today and he made a few mistakes but was by no means awful. Silly tug for the penalty but never deserved a red.

Kaboul gave away a stupid penalty and really never got close to Aguero, though not many do.

Rose was very good. He had one casual moment early on but otherwise looked positive in both directions.

Capoue was dreadful. Way too casual way too often. Needs to remember he's not in Ligue 1.

Mason was easily our best outfield player and should start next week too. Good passing, lots of work off the ball, great runs when joining the attack. This is him after 3 games, I can't wait to see him after 30!

Lamela had a bad game. Yes, the first goal should've been offside and the second was never a penalty, but it was his involvement both times. Shame, he did start brightly, and he was involved, but nothing came off for him.

Eriksen was good, he dribbled well, linked well with Soldado, scored a good goal and found himself in dangerous areas constantly.

Chadli had a terrible game. I don't know if he was still injured but I imposed myself more from my sofa than he did on the pitch.

Soldado assisted the goal and played a few other great passes (the one early on for Mason was sensational) and had a great effort from the cross after the penalty miss. However, he did miss the penalty (having won it well) and I have to say, however well he may have played, you expect your centre forward, at 2-1 down, to equalise from the spot when he has such a good penalty record previously and is actually having a good game.

Dembele came on and contributed absolutely nothing, as we've come to expect. Stambouli with his ability to win the ball would've made more sense.

Townsend came on and made the wrong decision every time he had the ball, as we've come to expect. Kane, who is actually on good form and actually is a footballer (can be inportant when playing football) would've made more sense.

Vertonghen came on to fill in the hole left by the departed Fazio and quite beautifully lay on his arse while guiding Aguero's fourth past our goalie.

This was never a 4-1. I think it's debatable that we even deserved to lose. We had enough good chances, were fine on possession before an incorrect sending off and played good football. However, City had two things we did not. A referee in their pocket (clearly biased all game long), and an on form, world class Aguero. I saw enough to feel confidence for next time.
