I don't blame him. The only one I have no confidence in is Dier at centre back. Just don't think he's up to it.

Agree. The problem is, a 4 back line with Dier at CB is going to fail against the team like Chelsea. I can see why Poch prefers 3CB

not the only reason but certainly one of

Of course it was. And indirectly it meant we didn't have Son on the bench. Knowing that they had Hazard and we had nothing would've been a psychological blow as much as anything. We couldn't have predicted they'd leave him out though I suppose.

Dembele was monstrous at times, but Eriksen dictated our play and put in the pass of the season. My MOM

Dembele easily, kept kante silent. Eriksen was good but needs to work on his corners

Of course. But it shouldn't be he main talking point. He was responsible for one of their goals, which wasn't even the decisive one.
i agree that son as lwb should not be the main talking point but i think that every goal matters

If it was an experiment to be made, then perhaps making it in the cup was the right thing. I think Poch is a gambler. I like that. Audere et facere and all that. This time he lost.

Proud of them all. Hugely difficult week.

While we can debate Pochettino doing one thing or not doing another. I simply don't agree with picking apart this performance. Honestly I think in think in the circumstances it was incredible.

Just consider that yesterday while Chelsea were relaxing and putting the final bits on their tactical plan our whole club was likely doing something very different in a totally different atmosphere.

Not to make excuses just the reality of what the club has gone through.

thought they all played well, and showed a lot of character coming from behind twice. Dembele my MOTM.

The Son thing was one that would make Poch look like a genius if it worked, but in retrospect if Davies really wasnt 100% Id have played Verts on the left. Even forgetting about the defending, we need Son more forward because we only have 4 players that are a reliable attacking threat and he is one of them.

Im disappointed but not bitter - I always figured this would be a tough one for us with having to chase them in the league and our injuries.

Motm for me was Eriksen

Worst on the pitch the referee, Alonso should of been booked on 3 occasions before he did, played advantage when there wasn't an advantage to play

Stupid error by Son cost us, along with sloppy defending on their only corner, with a wonder goal to kill us off. Not very often the better team loses 4-2, just hope it doesn't dent the confidence for our final 6 games, though downside this might give the scummy ****s the lift they need

Trippier could have played left back Walker right back and Dier dropped to the bench.

MOM Eriksen or Dembele

Surely MP noticed in training that Son cannot defend. And the balls he played from deep were so dangerous, so nearly intercepted.
Other than that he was quite disciplined and only wandered once or twice. Overall a terrible decision and MP needs to think of something else for Wednesday.

I am tempted to give it to Alli for being continually fouled - this was a very poor ref, but we knew that before.
*Dembele and Eriksen were both exellent.

Eriksen for me, two great assists. I can barely get mky head around that second one. Dembele was also great.

I felt Dier and Lloris were extremely poor today. Lloris never should've conceded the free kick and I can't remember him making a save. Dier's 'clearance' or whatever the fuck it was for their 3rd goal was ridiculous. Poor generally as well.

All in all gutted by that game. Utterly ridiculous to dominate as much as that but to get shafted by individual mistakes and shitty refereeing.
It was Walker who cleared wasn't it?

That pass from Eriksen was just ridiculous and sadly wont get the attention it deserves because of the result

Son playing at LWB was not the reason we lost.

Don't @ me.

This. We were 2-2 when Son was subbed, blaming the defeat on playing him at LWB is ridiculous, particularly as we were dominating the game.
They took their chances, we didn't, it's as simple as that. When you have two of the best teams in the country playing each other, the margins are as fine as that.

It's been a while since I've felt this deflated after a match, much like everyone else here, but grow a pair for fucks sake. We lost a finely balanced, hard fought exciting match. Whining about blame makes some of you lot sound like spoilt tarts.

A great game we unluckily lost, can people not accept that's football/sport without looking for scapegoats, we may have lost this match but i couldn't be prouder of the performance in what has been a tough couple of days for everyone around the club.
