I thought GLC was MOtm. There was a poor spell from everyone after we scored. I thought Porro, Udogie and Bentancur were trying to be too cute with the passing around the area during that spell, but attacking players didn't respond by dropping deeper to help. A fair number of those interactions led to possession loss.

Second half, I thought the attackers started to drop a lil more deeper to help work the ball out which is when Udogie and GLC were superb. They had more to work with.

8+ GLC, Udogie, Royal, Vic
7+Johnson - should have had another 2 assists if it wasn't for the poor finishing from Son and Richy. Some excellent deliveries into the box.
7 Everyone else. I don't think anyone had a bad game apart from the collective slump between scoring and halftime. PEH would have got an 8 had he not tried to play Veliz through when he was clearly struggling, but Son was through out wide

Special mention for Veliz. He will be gutted cos he would have known some real minutes were coming for him in Jan with Son away. However, after knowing he was hurt, and couldn't be subbed, he still got back to defend the corners, and even tried to breakaway when PEH bizarrely played him through even though he was clearly hobbling. I was shouting for him to get off the pitch cos we need him. I just hope it's not a bad injury. Heart of a lion, can't wait to have him back.

Udogie, Gio, and Davies the obvious standouts, but Hojbjerg changed the dynamics of the game. A very bad day at the office for Ange, who is now routinely outcoached by virtually everyone. Thank fcuk for Vicario and sheer luck for our points total.
Yes, PEH made a positive impact. But no, Ange wasn’t outcoached by anyone. We won, which should have been your first clue.

Vicario 7 - Did what he needed to do, solid as always

Porro 7 - Solid as always, love Pedro

Emerson 7 - better game from him today

Davies 7 - solid and handled Solanke quite well

Udogie 7.5 - very good today

Bentancur 7 - did well in comeback match, so happy to see him back

Lo Celso 8 - MOTM for me for his 2nd half performance. Love watching him play

Sarr 7 - nice goal and was playing well until his injury

Johnson 6 - did ok but final ball needs improving but really like him and he’ll keep improving

Richy 7 - took his goal well but missed a sitter and ball bounced off him a bit

Son 7 - out of the game for large patches but very well taken crucial goal to put us 2-0 up

Subs:
Skipp 6 - gave the ball away too much as usual but worked hard and battled well 2nd half

PEH 6 - solid enough

Dier 5 - let in a goal about a minute after he came on 😅 🤦‍♂️

Gil 5 - lightweight

Veliz 6 - feel bad for him with his injury :(

Outcoached? Lucky points total? You're embarrassing yourself. And not for the first time either.

You don't end up halfway through the season three points off the top by being 'routinely outcoached' and lucky. Fucking hell, some common sense and balance wouldn't go amiss here.

Up to you of course but some of your stuff is just so silly it's verging on unbelievable

A mixed bag that one.

But I'm not sure what else we could ask the squad to deliver performance wise.

I'm going against the grain here and will single out PEH and Skipp, second half, for adding some balance and protection to the back line and a bit of forward momentum. The first half (post 20 mins) was looking grim. I'm not saying they were pirlo or kompany incarnate, just that they did a good job.

Udogie and GLC looking good for motm. Can't decide between.

Shout to Royal. I thought he was very good today.

Most of my, probably harsh criticism, is aimed towards the attackers. Son, goal aside was abject. Needs to play as striker now?

Johnson was terrible I thought. Again.

Richie was ok, just needs more supply.

Maddison can't come back quick enough.

All in all a superb 3 points and was brilliant to see Bentancur back.

Did not like seeing 2 of our young lads going off in tears. Hope they make swift recoveries.

And Udogie not picking up his. You that desperate Nev? ;)
Isn’t he being pulled across by Hojbjerg not picking up his man?

I know I’ve banged on about this but was just watching the highlights and saw this. Makes our defenders look bad.

I’ll let it go 😂

I don’t know how it looked on TV but Richy absolutely worked his socks off. Yes he should have finished the first chance, but took his goal really well. Close between Gio and Destiny for motm.
shame Vic didn’t get a clean sheet.
Hope the injuries to Sarr and Veliz aren’t as serious as they looked.

Not watched the game, with all the injuries you have to say what a great job Ange is doing the squad are an amazing group I’m really proud to be a spurs fan.

chelsea hurt but I’ve never respected the team more, the stadium pretty much stayed to the end.

villa hurt

West Ham, hurt

Brighton hurt

but we played great football in most of our defeats

Yeah you could see how hard Richy was working, he does so much off the ball work for the team.

Took his goal beautifully too.

A bit undecided but as has been said Udogie was excellent throughout. Lo Celso showed in the second half the kind of dominance he has rarely showed at Spurs. But Emerson was outstanding in application, focus, effort and end product. He gets it for that moment late in the game when he made an important clearance and gave a huge fist pump. He was pumped up all game but not reckless

Vicario - I've never been calmer watching a Spurs keeper than I am with Vicario. He actually didn't have a huge amount to do, for all of Bournemouths possession they only had 2 shots on target all game I think. A position I thought would be a concern for us but this guy is the one. 7/10

Porro - still think he's missing Romero next to him but he was much better than v Brighton. One or two fantastic blocks too. 7/10

Royal - more composed bar some hectic minutes when he clattered into Vic. Admirable job he's done at centre half. 7/10

Davies - dealt well with Solanke and made one absolute worldy of a block at 1-0. Got involved with the build up play well a couple of times. Proper club man. Yet again a solid game. Barely put a foot wrong standing in for VDV, I'd be happy to see him partner Vdv while Romero is still out. 7.5/10

Udogie - monstrous performance. 21 years old and an absolute joke of a footballer. Best player on the pitch. Again referees let him get clattered a couple of times without punishment but he shrugged it off and kept going. Couple of fantastic solo runs, if he trusted his right foot he could have a couple more goals to his name. 8.5/10

Bentancur - looked good but tentative. Hopefully we can keep him fit now as he's going to be playing a lot of football with Bissouma, Sarr off. Looked a little sluggish after HT, to be expected but what a boost to have him back. Can see how press resistant he is on the ball immediately. 6.5/10

Sarr - we really lost a lot of legs when he went off, thankfully his injury isn't too bad, hope he gets knocked out early though, we need him back and fit. Great goal. 7/10.

GLC - struggled first half but brilliant second half, worked his balls off and was everywhere. Great ball carrying ability. Keeps the ball moving, has bought into Ange clearly, hopefully we can keep him here. What an assist for Sonny too. If KDB or someone had made that assist we'd be seeing it everywhere tonight. 8/10.

Johnson - much better than Thursday, more aggressive with and without the ball, great assist for Richy his ability to cross on the move is a huge asset. Think we'll see a bigger improvement with Madders back too. 6.5/10

Richy - worked his arse off yet again, unselfish in his running for the team, possibly should have put us 2 up from the early chance second half but yet another really well taken goal. Poor first half, much better second. 7/10

Sonny - needs a rest but not going to get it unfortunately. Having said that he got into a lot more dangerous positions second half but like Richy should have probably scored earlier than he did. Hopefully gets knocked out early like Sarr and back to us quickly. Lovely goal. 6.5/10

Skipp - was nowhere when he came on but a lot more solid second half I thought. Especially when PEH came on. 6/10

PEH - thought we were much more composed when he came on and gave us some control back in the midfield. Scored 2 goals when he came on too. Will be sad to see him go but if we replace him with someone like Gallagher I think we will be ok. 7/10.

Veliz - barely on and he was hurt, hope it's not bad.

Gil - should have scored but it was a bit behind him. Did well to be fair to him.

Lots of good shouts for Udogie and second-half Lo Celso. Well deserved. But I would like to throw in a couple of alternative good words: first for Richalison who did an immense amount of dog work especially in the first half when not much else was clicking. Arial challenges, closing down, tackling, and a lot of body on the line hold up work from a series of fairly crappy pressure relieving passes. Yes he missed a sitter, but then did what a good forward should do: scored the next one. Which brings me on to shout 2: Brennan Johnson. Getting a few pelters above, maybe because he is not constantly involved. But when he is - boy can he weight a grass skimming through ball or cross to perfection. Things of beauty. More to come there I hope and trust.

I vote Lo Celso POTM as he was booked 20 mins after he came off the pitch!
Udogie and Vicaro also did quite well.
Having Bentancur back was a pleasant surprise for me!

Building up a nice little understanding with Brennan Johnson too. Those 2 near post finishes have been excellent.
