Actually I wasn’t praising Foyth against Chelsea and it was a clear penalty on Hazard. When I saw the starting lineup And saw Foyth I felt a bit nervous. I still think he is not ready for games of this caliber. He is still very young and has a lot to learnThis time last week we were praising Foyth and Aurier for a cracking display against Chelsea, lauding our front 4 for playing slick, stylish, dominant football, and saying Sissoko was undroppable with Dier back to his best. Unless a simple switch of Belgian centre backs is enough to completely destroy that (which would mean that we aren’t anywhere near as good as we seem to think), then maybe we just need to accept that on the day Arsenal were better than us, just like a week ago we were better than Chelsea.
What I will say is that our manager’s failure to react, if not to the poor first half display, then to the equaliser early in the second half, is inexcusable and the reason why he not cut out for a ‘top’ job. He’s the right level for us, we’re the right level for him.
Individually, little to say beyond the obvious.
Lloris didn’t deserve to concede four, and wasn’t at fault (even for their third, which took a wicked deflection).
Aurier and Davies came out in the second half as if they were chasing the game, no thought for allowing arsenal to do the work and pick them off, leaving our centre backs horrible exposed.
Vertonghen was rash and nervy from start to almost finish, while Foyth looked every bit a player with only three previous starts in this league and ultimately made the mistake which cost us the game.
Dier at least fought, he scored a good headed goal, he defended and blocked well too.
Sissoko was up and down quite well but his execution was lacking in key moments.
Eriksen saw a lot of the ball and tried to prove away but he was often crowded out.
Dele overall held the ball okay and kept the arsenal defence guessing but he didn’t create anything of note.
Son was our biggest threat, winning both the free kick and penalty from which we scored and really keeping the arsenal defence guessing. Subbing him off was ridiculous.
Kane did a good impression of Andy Booth, a well taken penalty and a good free kick offering little redemption.
Winks, Lucas and Rose should all pool together to buy Pochettino a present for his generosity in introducing them to a game already well lost.
Clearly I was referring to a collecting, overriding WE, rather than just you ollieActually I wasn’t praising Foyth against Chelsea and it was a clear penalty on Hazard. Harsh on Torreira who was absolutely brilliant for them today. As much as it pains me to say it.They have two decent strikers but are an otherwise unremarkable team IMO....and they stuffed us.
Hope the players have a sense for how that feels for me to type/write.........
I'm sorry but the idea that Toni Jimenez, our goalkeeping coach, should've come off the bench and help out the defence is preposterous2nd half Tony was badly needed.
Lloris 6 not great but not really at fault for the 4 goals
Aurier 4 poor, positioning is just terrible and always caught on the counter, thankfully Sissoko is like a 2nd RB so covered for him
Foyth 5 not terrible but poor mistake for their 3rd goal
Verts 6 not his usual solid self, not helped by those around him
Davies 5 offered very little
Dier 6 good aside for big mistake for their 4th
Sissoko 8 Solid comfortable on the ball and great runs MOTM
Alli 7 commanding performance up until 60mins winning fouls
Eriksen 7 good assist
Son 7 good threat in 1st half but anonymous in the 2nd
Kane 7 good hold up play and took pen well
Poch 5 should have changed it at 2-2. Our defence needed help and Tony was sitting on the bench. Madness. If not, Lucas should have been bought on much sooner
26mil release clause this summer while we sat with our thumb up our ass.Harsh on Torreira who was absolutely brilliant for them today. As much as it pains me to say it.
what is aurier meant to be good at again?
See my post directly above yours...One thing is obvious, we've got to get another midfielder.
I kept reading in the summer about how everyone was too expensive and we couldn't afford the players that would improve us - how much did Arsenal get Torreira for again?
Agreed but we wont be signing anyone. One thing is obvious, we've got to get another midfielder.

Back 4 was abysmal but that’s all on Poch. Starting Foyth was an awful decision. And he had a game where all the warning signs came to a head. He’s not ready for this level. Wayyyyyy out of his depth. Needs a loan to a lower table side. No coincidence both players on either side of him were awful today. He was so bad it caused Dier to have to cover 3 positions at once. Sissoko reverted back to his usual, useless self. Kane was poor. Awful all around.
I still really have big question over our european scouts. This kid was well known in Italy as being the real deal.26mil release clause this summer while we sat with our thumb up our ass.
Replacing Kyle Walker..................what is aurier meant to be good at again?
