Is this the Arsenal thread now?

Most of the opinions and thoughts about what Arsenal are doing or supposedly going to do means nothing at all. They need to play catchup and please their fans. Let them do whatever, who cares anyway.

We should focus on ourselves and do whatever we need to do, to become even more competitive. That means Raphina or not, there is definitely a plan of action being followed which will elevate our club either way. Stop focusing on those around us, and focus on our own goals.

The other teams below us don't deserve our energy, we need to aim for the top and work out how we will do this in our own way.

Big time mindset required.

Focus on ourselves and keep a healthy awareness of what our rivals are doing.. If Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham are improving we absolutely have to react to that and if necessary do more than we planned to in the transfer market this summer..

Every time I click on the Jesus or this thread I get redirected to an Arsenal discussion.

Very frustrating when we have some insightful members or actual itk updates that get missed because of it. Take it to general chat please.

Spot on mate. I was trying to articulate the same thing a few posts back but you have worded this much better than I did.

Arsenal as a club care almost as much about their social media standing as their football.

They are constantly leaking players they are “trying” for to appease their needy fans, if they spend their budget on Jesus and Raphina after buying someone for 35m who plays in the same position as their only decent player, they are in a lot of trouble.

Their defence i poor, defensive side of midfield even more so

I like raphina and I think he's a good player, but there is some absolute desperation in the posts I am reading.

It's like there is a mental block and we all can't remember trying to sign Dybala for huge money, martial for 80m or Danny ings and his 150k demands.

Every other post.....

"If Conte wants him" (dangerous thinking, like when poch wanted ndombele or lo Celso). This is why we have paratici.

"We need to think like a big club" (this is the hilarious one, which big club - Barcelona in a financial mess, United spending a billion on crap, or being a country owned club like city?)

We offer Leeds and raphina a fee and wages that we think are reasonable, negotiate a little and then if we don't like the terms we walk away. This should be the mo for all players, especially for a player that probably wouldn't make our starting 11.

Paratici always has 10 targets for each position, this is so we are not ripped off.

Here is a picture for the "that is the price nowadays" lot. He might be worth 65m, but we will certainly be paying over the odds for this player, who a year ago was worth less than half of the rumoured price.

We have money, we have a great opportunity, we have a bright future, doesn't mean we should "just pay the money" for every player.

Also a reminder that we are still in June. A year ago we hadn't even started the discussions of transfers.

I fully agree with you, but there's no need to panic or worry about it. We have been told the positions which we are looking for, so we will strengthen in those positions either way. Paratici will do what he does best and have us a squad which is competitive and capable, if that's Raphina or not, there will be alternatives just as good if not better.

Just like WLB said in a previous post, it's not choice 1, 2 or 3, it's more about the flavour of the player, meaning the alternatives are just as good, if not better.

We just need patience, remain calm and let the plan unfold.

To get to the top, you have to keep those below you in their place., and then overtake those ahead of us.

I don't think Many will disagree that means Arsenal and Man U need to be kept on their places.

No. Most non-positive ratings are neutral. To really get a load of negative ratings, someone is acting like a dick.

Telling someone, and I quote, to "Go.fuck.yourself" isn't a different opinion.
You mean after said person has had a personal dig at me?? Yeah. Ok.

Yes. Exactly. Whatever you want to pretend, it's not "just giving an opinion" is it? It degraded into insults (from both sides).

Anyway, back on topic for Raphina now.

You do realise the original post was:

… of which a few people probably thought “we haven’t bottled anything here”.

Then ensued a load of straw manning, when really the point of disagreement was nothing to do with most of what was being said.
I came in on a different post to the one mentioned above....but I got the gist of his meaning. I remember a back and forth a few weeks back and you might or might not remember our conversation on exactly this. Anyways the bugger has me on ignore I think :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:... So let's leave it there.

He wanted to see more substance to our business than what we've done thus far. The transfer window just opened we are opening the cheque book and I personally I'm not getting excited until it's all done but I can acknowledge that we strengthening and not standing still.

I think some want to see us challenging for the title which might be a little too early. Let's see at the end of the window how the squad shapes up.

Ornstein saying Richarlison is our first choice and Arsenal now firm favourites for Raphinha.

That would be really disappointing if true :(

Well done! You’ve just about managed to add that someone else was involved. Just… yes. Let’s move on.
