Great player and would rattle the fuck out of Arsenal fans but I've only ever seen him play RW. Brilliant competition for Kulu but we'd need to bring in another attacker that can cover Son/Kane assuming Berg leaves.

I’d love him but surely we can’t be THAT awesome in transfermarket after seemingly securing Bissouma (not counting chickens till I see him holding the shirt!).
Agree. We are so not used to such good news? Are we in the right multiverse?

We’ve had links now to Raphina, Antony and ASM. All similar profile players who play out wide and predominantly rely on pace and elite dribbling to create.

Crucially none of those players profile like Richarlison, who is a true forward/wide forward. Which makes me think - are we trying to get Richarlison and one of those three?

Fuck me sideways if so!

Yes! Exactly!

Next some crazy fool will be saying we’re gonna sign crazy premier league quality in Bissouma, Raphina AND Richalison! :cautious:

I keep forgetting the, in my opinion, stupid 5 sub rule - so signing a different profile attacker, especially if we are off loading Bergwijn and Moura, would make sense.

Seems like this is a link that Paratici is happy to be made public to try and get everton to reassess their asking price on richarlison. Just don't see Raphina being a priority as he can't play no.9 and we are already stacked on right side even after Stevie B is sold.

There's definitely does seem to be some remit for a dribbler in the side with the ASM and Raphinha links (plus Diaz) in Jan. That said I think it'd require Moura to move and I just can't see that happening.

Only other way I might see us going for this is if there is a cheaper target man/plan b type on our radar.

Richarlison just seems a much better bet to cover all bases.

I did say not to get too focused on Richarlson and they'd be more links later this week. I'd rather Raphinha.

The full article rules that out tbf. Can someone post it pls - I’ve been doing media whoring all day on my phone instead of doing work

Leeds' Raphinha is a target for both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this summer, amid concerns Barcelona will be unable to fund a deal for the forward, The Athletic understands.

Chelsea are also understood to hold an interest in the 25-year-old, although they are also working on a deal for Ousmane Dembele, who is poised to leave Barcelona on a free transfer.

Leeds are open to selling Raphinha providing the club’s valuation of the player is met.

He has been repeatedly linked with a move to Barcelona, but there are growing concerns over whether or not the La Liga side can fund a deal.

The Spanish side have debts of more than £1 billion and strict controls on their recruitment and expenditure.

That has opened the door to the Premier League’s north London rivals — who both hold an interest in the Brazil international.

Tottenham are also interested in Everton’s Richarlison, however, and it is understood Antonio Conte’s side will not sign both Brazilians this summer.

Tottenham's managing director of football Fabio Paratici is known to operate by lining up multiple targets to ensure that if one falls through, there is a back-up option.

Raphinha has enjoyed two fine seasons since moving to play for Leeds in the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa, scoring 17 goals in 65 top-flight appearances.

The Athletic reported earlier this month that Leeds are sympathetic to Raphinha’s ambition and do not intend to be unfair or obstructive if their valuation is met.

It is understood that Leeds no longer anticipate him accepting a new contract — something that appeared to be on the cards midway through the season — and although Raphinha has not directly asked for a transfer, it is no secret that he sees himself playing in European competition.

Tottenham have already been very active in the summer transfer market. They have completed the signings of Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic on free transfers, while The Athletic reported on Tuesday that they are also in talks to sign Djed Spence and have agreed a fee for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Arsenal have, meanwhile, added Marquinhos and goalkeeper Matt Turner to their squad ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

I think he's the better player but Richarlison suits our needs more (can play wide but also as a target man). They are both 25 which is surprised me.

Had we not already signed Kulusevski I think Raphinha would have been my ideal signing this summer.

Personally I believe he’s a much more talented player than Richarlison, albeit less versatile. Richarlison is more appropriate for our current needs, but….

I think he’d cost less than Richarlison (Plus I could see both clubs being interested in Winks)

For the price of Richarlison you probably could get Raphinha and say Weghorst

Weghorst would offer us something we don’t already have. Conte likes a target man as shown with Llorente. I’d imagine he has a relegation release clause since Burnley went down

also by signing two players in Weg and Raph. Then you can offload an extra one like Lucas

Weghorst is not good enough for us. Llorente was a far higher class of 'big man'.

I like that we're also seemingly pursuing lots of players in their mid-20s meaning they have a good balance between still being able to grow while also having experience and consistency.
