I think this is a really exciting option. People keep saying it’s a waste of Kulu’s talent but it’s not. A RWB in a 4 can also be seen as a Right Midfielder. Kostic on the other side is a perfect example of this. He’s classed as a wing back but spends most of his time in the attacking third. It’s an option.
If we're contemplating that, why not just play Perisic at RWB?

Surely he is first choice on the left and has a unique skillset for LWB that is nearly perfect for the role, but he is definitely comfortable and quite good on the right as well. He'd be stronger defensively and less prone to concerning miscues due to being out of practice in defense.

I suppose against a lower level team or something Kulu could play there, but he is a budding star on the wing forward role and should play the vast majority of his matches there. Let's not disrupt that.

Obviously it’s a squad game but Raphinha RWF and Kulu RWB?
Based on Conte's previous teams he prefers right footed rwb and left footed lwb, and the opposite for the wingers. Ashley Young being an obvious exception. I think that provides more balance personally.

If we have a shot at all, we should stop everything and get him. Choosing between Deki and Raphinha would be one of the best headaches Conte has ever had.

Seriously, his left foot is magic. Would change losses into draws and draws into wins.

Not sure Raphinha is quite the right fit as I’m not sure how he performs as a central forward rather than a wide forward, albeit he’s a top talent, but I could see us going for two forwards this window, to see us end up with a very fluid three from five, Kulu, Kane, Son we know, but then two from Richarlison and Raphinha/Jesus would give us amazing flexibility within the squad to choose any 3 from the 5 to start a game.
We’ve seen very publicly Conte has demanded a new forward, but also stated any leavers should also be replaced, so should Bergwijn and Moura go there’ll be a need for more than one incoming forward. Given Bissouma’s impending arrival, plus potentially Eriksen, I think 3412/352 is possibly going to be a path we go down, therefore 5 forwards feels just about right.

Need him and Richarlison ideally or at least 2 x players in that can play in forward positions. We need a backup for Kane and if Bergwijn is also off then we'd need to replace him too.

I dont think its too bad if you sell Steve for £20-25m and get £15m or so for Winks. Outlay for 2 x proven premiership players for sub £70m. We have money to spend this summer.

I think if we’re going for both then Lucas has to make way also, don’t forget we’re likely going to see Eriksen in the mix as well. Front 3 options of:

Kane
Son
Kulu
Eriksen
Raphinha
Richarlison

That is mouth watering and with 5 subs all would get plenty of game time.

Get the first choice defensive target in also and we honestly could compete for the league

We've got 5 subs next season so if Lucas and Bergwijn go then we need both Richarlison and Raphinha. Either that or we keep Gil around, or use Perisic further forward more often signing another LWB.

Playing in the CL with 5 subs I don't think this would be enough:

- Kane
- Richarlison
- Son
- Kulusevski

I'm sure if both Lucas and Bergwijn go we will bring two attackers in. A right sided option would make the most sense in addition to a striker.

I was thinking about the possibility of Raphinia being the right wing back (like how they wanted traore to play) but can also play right forward so he'd be versatile.

I just can't see Lucas going personally. I imagine he wants to go back to Brazil in 2024 at the latest, no one is going to pay a good fee for him on a 2 year deal.

Maybe we could loan him out if there was a good loan fee but at that point spending £50m on two attackers might be a bit of a reach!

I think we will be light for next season with 5 subs and a World Cup if we don't have 6 forwards. I think Parrott would be a geat fit for 6th forward but Conte probably doesn't trust him yet and the player needs game time.

You could use Perisic as the 6th forward option because he will play lwb but Davies can also play as a lwb and if you are in a spot where Sess is injured and you need to push Perisic further forward, Davies can do a job at lwb

Whateber happens Kane and Son need to be protected as much as possible.

We also need access to 5 CMs too, hopefully Sarr can give us some help there

I reckon Lucas will stay this summer.

So we will look to sign one of Richarlison, Jesus or Raphinha along with Eriksen and have these 6 players as our attacking unit:

Son/Richarlison or Jesus or Raphinha
Kane/Lucas
Deki/Eriksen

I don't think Lucas will cover Kane either I'm just putting him on the list. I think Eriksen will rotate with Deki if we get him, with us possibly switching to 3-5-2 when Eriksen comes in, with Son or Richarlison/Jesus partnering Kane up top. Then obviously 3-4-3 with Son, Kane and Deki as a 3 when they start, with Richarlison/Jesus capable of covering Son or Kane.

In this sense, as much as I love him as a player, Raphinha wouldn't work as well because he couldn't cover the central striker position.

Lads we’re not signing both Raphinia and Richarlison ?
Why not? If we sell Bergwijn and also Lucas then there needs to be appetite to replace those two players. Both Richarlinson and Raphinia are more than gettable IMO and offer good cover right across the front three positions.

we have done some really smart business so far, so there is money there if we do want to spend.

Not sure Raphinha makes much sense. Yes he's an upgrade on Moura, but anyone we bring in will need to be able to play across the front 3. Raphinha is very much just a right sided forward / winger.

He's basically a better Moura. If Moura moves on he'd make sense, but Richarlison would be a better fit due to his versatility, and seeing as it looks like Moura is staying, we will still have that specialist RW option in the squad.

I also think Richarlison's mentality is better, and he would be more consistent. Raphinha still goes missing a fair bit for Leeds.

It might not be Raphinha granted but presumably then you're happy with only 4 forward options for 6 squad slots if Lucas leaves? Playing high intensity CL football and with 5 substitutions?

Raphinha definitely can play from the left if needed but I agree with you in general, he doesn't offer the same level of flexibility we need. Particularly if we do get Eriksen as he could cover Deki on the inside right as I've explained above.
