Do you really want to be in the Europa league though, I don't.

We've seen before when a team has no Euro distractions they do far better in the league.
What like Wolves?

Jokes aside they've shown it can be done. We need to sort out our mass amounts of injuries though.

I read teams in Europe might not be in the League Cup next year as well, might actual win it again ?

Since the break the form argument is over. You’re now only as good as your last game. We got 1 point, Man U got 1 point, Sheffield Utd got none and no idea what Wolves got haha. Please don’t try to break this argument down with logic, I’m going to get blindly optimistic, enjoy the rest of the season and expect a 100% record from now on. COYS! In Jose we trust.

That’s a good point to be fair. I doubt any teams are going to be fluent and putting in top performances for a few weeks yet and any previous good runs aren’t going to count for that much.

Unfortunately, even if you ignore form, we are just a bit mid table these days. We’ll have better days and worse days, but there are plenty of teams that are simply better than we are.

Will be very surprised if we even finish 5th.

For me with Jose in charge and a smart transfer window we could have a squad capable of winning the Europa. Also the ramifications of not getting into Europe financially could hurt us more also where is levys encouragement to bolster the squad without Europe. We havent got the squad capable of winning the league even without European football. City might not have europe so in reality could walk the league if not them liverpool probably will. I want a trophy if its the Europa then so be it. Jose won it easily with UTD.

I’d say we’re probably Europa League bound, which will be annoying considering Arsenal aren’t even going to qualify for that and will have Thursday nights off

I wouldn’t worry about Arsenal. They’re only going one direction. I know we’ve said it before but I can’t see that changing soon. I have resigned myself to think Europa wouldn’t be that bad for this squad. They need the match practice. Besides if you’re out of European competition, you don’t need such a big squad so we’d be selling a few more players than planned in the next transfer window. Players like Sessegnon can’t get a game now and everyone wants to see Parrott get games. No European football and that’s two players we’d have to loan out. Mind you, that might be good for them.

I feel 2 ways about it. On one hand we could actually stand a chance of winning the Europa League (more so than the Champions League). English sides have been doing well in recent years (Arsenal made the final last year despite their problems) and Mourinho is capable.

On the other hand our squad simply isn't strong enough and I don't see that changing in the transfer window. The better we've done in Europe the worse our league seasons have gotten (finishing 2nd (out at group stage), finishing 3rd (last 16) and 4th (final)). So it then comes down to whether we could challenge for the title and Liverpool will take some stopping (while City will surely benefit if they have no Europe).

Of the 2 I think we stand a better chance winning the Europa League over the most competitive league in Europe. It may mean missing out on top 4 though but a win gets us CL qualification. Only a strong transfer window would help us challenge in both the league and cups.

Looking at the table, not holding on for the win at Man U is what is going to cost us. I can see it now.

Sheffield United play United tomorrow and Arsenal in the cup on Sunday.

What do we think? Advantage or disadvantages for them?

On one hand they're building more fitness, on the other hand it's a lot of games in quick succession when fitness levels aren't at peak levels yet.

I think we could still make top 4 if we win all our remaining games. Leicester have a really tough fixture list.

I was thinking that but It would be dependent on us winning all of our games and for them to have a stinker. Very unlikely.

Providing Chelsea don't win on Thursday, I think they're still catchable. 6 points with 7 games remaining isn't unattainable, especially when you consider that they still have to go to Anfield. I know Liverpool might be on the beach, but they're still a formidable side and that's a game that I'd expect Chelsea to lose.

They've look poor since the break, reckon they're gonna tail off anyway.
