Even in the current state that Chelsea are in, they will be a totally different animal against us. Especially at Stamford Bridge, where we've won once in the past 30+ years.

Newcastle will also be a very tricky game even with their injuries - look how they managed to come back today.
Well aware of their record against us at the Bridge. However IMO it isnt going to be a repeat of the Battle of The Bridge. Their players dont have the experience, while their fans will be loud they could easily turn on then with an early goal. Ange will ne focussing on keeping the players calm after the reverse fixture. Newcastle will have a large number of players out and relied on heroics from Barnes and Wham crumbling.

All to play for.

Have BBC made an agreement with the FA to not talk about any of the controversies in todays matches?

Done the math.

If we win 5 games we will be on 71 pts.

That means Utd would need to get 23 points out of 27.

Not gonna happen

"City were also lucky to win". Does he not realise Utd drew with Brentford?

I watched that game and City weren't lucky.

They took a while to get going but when they did they were comfortable.

If United played like anything I've seen from them this season then yes you were very lucky to get anything.

I'd honestly be fuming with Ten Hag if I was a United fan. I'd have signed up for his Ajax team and they are a million miles from that.

He then delivered that "I didn't come here to do that" speech and that would have immediately turned me against him as that would have been why I wanted him (and why I would have liked him as Spurs coach)

Never a penalty! What is the point of VAR if they refuse to overrule wrong decisions by the referee.

Decisions like the Gordon penalty (2nd one) are a product of the VAR era. Same as Southampton's equaliser under Conte. Defender doesn't foul the attacker, at all, but the video shows 'contact' and it looks like in clearing the ball he's impeded the attacker. Even though the attacker has no chance/intention of playing the ball.

The BBC report from that Southampton game says: Southampton were eventually rewarded for their tenacity when Pape Sarr made contact with Maitland-Niles in the box...

And, sadly, that is all they need to give it.

The Burnley penalty is crazy. Made worse by the 2nd yellow and red to Kompany for telling the ref he's made a mistake.

He's honestly so out of his depth. Pool, City, and Arsenal all did the double over Brentford. Plus they lost to Brentford 4-0 last season too. Wtf is he on about!

Edit: Forgot to add, this was a weakened Brentford side. They had Toney back yes, but missing a lot of players

Honestly, any success at Ajax should barely count in consideration for a job at a top league. They're big fish in small pond - the competition is mostly abysmal.

Look at the prior Ajax manager who was supposedly the next big thing, De Boer- terrible at Inter, terrible at Crystal Palace, and so bad that he was sacked from Atlanta United (Not Atalanta, Atlanta). And Ten Hag is just as dull, boring, uninspiring. It's surprising he's lasted this long.

Clubs need to stop assuming whichever Dutchman is doing well at Ajax is the next Johan Cryuff

I know Poch is having a mare at Chelsea right now :), but I dont think that club is manageable by anyone under Boehly

genuinely do not understand why Man U went for Ten Hag and not Poch

De Boer and ETH are not even comparable.

Ajax, have been shit since ETH left, 3rd last season and 6th so far this season, so it isn't as easy as you are making out.

ETH won the EFL cup and finished 3rd in his 1st season. If they beat Coventry, he will have got them to 3 finals in 2 years.

Yeah, they have been shit this season, but have had times they have had to play with Maguire and Evans at CB.

That Chelsea penalty is one of if not THE softest penalty if ever seen awarded and then to book him for it resulting in his red card is crazy

How it never got overturned is absolutely ridiculous. He had his hand on him but he never pulled him back and Mudryk slipped.

Perhaps controversial but I think Liverpool should be swerving de Zerbi.

I reckon he’s a massive beneficiary of how well run Brighton are and is just a piece of the jigsaw there. He is clearly a good manager but that club has been on the up for years under numerous managers and none of them have gone on to do much anywhere else (Potter, Hughton, Poyet).

Only saying this as he seems to be refusing to commit himself to Brighton post 2026 in his pre match.

I wonder if the Brighton bubble will burst now too. Lost a lot of staff and decision makers. Reminds me of Southampton about 10 years ago although a different model. You just can’t keep selling your best players and moving forwards. Some threads on their forum even talking about selling/loaning Ferguson.
