Terrible news for the lad. A reminder that proper rehab and recovery from injury is so important. But maybe he was just unlucky again.

Pep will leave at some point and even with infinite money and dropped charges I just don't see them having this kind of domination after he goes. Every club has a down after an iconic manager leaves, their down might not be as severe as some but they won't win six titles out of seven after he goes.

That's what I'm clinging to anyway
Totally agree with this.

I think one factor that often gets missed is that not only have city been super-charged with spending, the whole set up has been created for a coach like Pep.

It is really a unique scenario. Txiki and Pep know each other inside out, so it is easier to get the right player in, it is also more seamless between academy and first team.

Pep also gets reign over everything. For example, Hart was pretty much a legend at City, yet Pep could still move him on, that has happened with lots of players. Pep is allowed to move them and make the decision when it is the right time

A new coach may not be able to strike all of this balance, and they may not inytegrate new players as well as Pep.

Not to mention, eveything that the new coach does will be measured against Pep's work, which is almost impossible to top.

He would have to win the PL or CL in his first season to ease pressure but other clubs may be in a position to take over them during a transition season.

You'd think, given the injury record with hamstrings in particular, Hodgson would have been more careful.

If I remember rightly he was in the cup replay against Everton when he took Eze and Olise off when they were trailing. He then got battered by the palace players and press for doing so in a game where they needed a goal.

That city bench is insane. They are just too strong
just looked and they dont have any significant injuries.

Which always makes me think about overplaying again

We all want to see the best each team has go toe-to-toe. Yet the authorities just want as much football as possible

An Everton loss today allied with a possible Luton win could be trouble for the toffees.
