It’s like watching Stoke under Tony Pulis - stick it in the mixer for one of the big lumps to get his head on it while the other lumps get in everyone’s way

That's 100% a foul. Obstruction all day long.

Really not sure, I thought at first maybe, but from a few replays He season doesn’t seem to do a whole lot to go and get the ball and just assumes he’s getting the foul and that weird thing Ben White is just sort of stood there.

Wouldn’t be impressed at all if we scored that and VAR ruled it out.

I always wonder what fans of teams like Palace feel like they get out of it.

Like you say it isn’t easy for these clubs to maintain positions it climb the table. It just feels like Palace have this every season where it’s like “will we finish 10th or 14th?” And more importantly at that point why care?

I know once a team is your team you stick with it, and I’m sure they have a lot of long term supporters who have settled in to that now, but where’s the excitement? Where’s the aim or objective they make their fans look forward to?

Perhaps I’m wrong but it just feels like it must be such a nothing existence for most of their fans, which is a shame as they do have good fans who can create a really good atmosphere!
I think they may accept few seasons and they would certainly understand it and be grateful they are not one of those clubs who takes riks that lead to them falling down a couple of divisions like Bolton or Sheff Wednesday.

But there will certainly come a point where mid-table mediocrity and poor football has to lead to something more exciting.

Can’t see it. Luton, Sheffield United and Burnley are poor enough to make Palace safe imo. But even if they do suddenly start winning, Everton and Forest have points deductions to contend with.

But it’s probably time to change Hodgson out for someone who can get the team set to start next season positively.
If I were Palace owner I'd have Steve Cooper in as soon as possible. I'm almost surprised it hasn't already happened.

If they gave it a go in cups I think fans would happily accept steadily being 10th to 14th.

Palace's problem is that Hodgson doesn't give a shit about any cups. They just tread water without even getting the big days out and it must be so frustrating.

Maybe Big Ange has ruined me but I don’t know how fans can watch this sort of dross every week

No, and it’s even worse when they play a team like Palace.

It still amazes me how dead the Emirates is, it’s just absolutely silent and I half expect to be able to hear the subs talking to one another.

I know their fans will all be looking on social media and posting “we’re back” ready for AFTV.. but Christ you can hear people opening their drinks.

Them and brentford

Brentford I don't mind so much because they didn't come up long ago, and I think they've tried to show ambition to improve. Even in bidding a lot for Johnson and brining Eriksen into the club and such. Think they've done well to establish themselves which should be the goal first and foremost when coming up.

Palace season after season just do absolutely nothing and I see such little ambition. They've done well to get players like Eze, Olise and Zaha before then, but it's like they use them just to stay afloat. The fact that they had Benteke as their striker for so long really paints the picture.

Yeah I still want to cut Brentford some slack, especially given the Toney situation and that they've actually shown some ambition as you say.

Palace don't deserve that slack any more after a full decade of just existing in the league.
