Chelsea signed him on the basis he had a purple patch end of last season.

Not signing strikers based on a short purple patch is scouting 101.

It could just be a purple patch and Jackson looks like he has very little to his game
Darwin Nunez is still a raw striker, Jackson is significantly worse IMO, its remarkable.

Makes my teeth itch at the way our game vs Chelsea played out. If it had remained 11v11 we'd have torn them a new one.

This is exactly why I don’t want us to sign Guirassy. He looks like a total donkey having a purple patch to me, same as Gift Orban.

Yeah.

I think they'd have got a couple of chances but not taken them as they would have beem harder then the tap ins Jackson got.

But we certainly would have had more chances and probably taken them.

The Romero red card and their goal actually coincided with the typical lull we have beem seeing in our games (United Liverpool H) and we tended to finish the half stronger.

I am sure it would have been the same

Gallagher is a deeply unimpressive footballer. Lots of effort but technically he doesn't appear to have much at all going for him.

Totally agree.

You should always look at how a striker is when he isnt scoring and where his goals are coming from.

WTF was going on there! I know we play a high line but Chelsea just left Hwang on the half way line with no one within 30 yards of him. Keeper only had to throw that out and he'd have been 1v1.

Fucking all over the place.

With the way we play it’s also important to look at their technical ability and awareness of others as a big part of their job will be providing and linking up for our wingers, 10, 8 and fullbacks who are expected to be chipping in with goals too. We need a very well rounded forward. Even though he’s in form right now even Richarlison still falls pretty short in this department for me as well, damn sight better than the previous players mentioned though.

He’s one of those players that I struggle to understand what he’s actually good at. He’s not bad, just doesn’t seem to excel at anything particularly.
