As mentioned in my post above, my Fulham supporting Dad (and their fans in general) agree with you, but those stats don't back that view up in the slightest. Stats say he's a great, almost freakish tackler, but what else does he do ? I suppose you can argue 'what else does he need to do' but i wouldn't want him at Spurs, certainly not with the new managers style, i never feel he's that comfortable in possession tbh , not terrible but not super comfortable and able to resist pressure.

Stats help inform opinions but they don't give a full picture. He is effective on the ball just not very fancy, he is positionally sound in transition and he is brilliant in the air. But mostly his intensity and press is impressive. There is a reason Fulham are demanding so much. There is a reason you Dad thinks that way watching him week in and out.

Whenever I've watched fulham and Portugal I have been extremely impressed. He is like a wall in that midfield And not just me. Barcelona have identified him as their main DM target.

Yeah i probably haven't seen him enough to make a proper opinion - i always felt he was almost too eager to tackle and would hunt players down in positions of the pitch that weren't necessary (Romero esque), leaving big gaps where he'd vacated. I felt he was competent with the ball, but nothing more, and then after that i didn't see what other top attributes he had. I suppose what you do with him is build your team around him, which i wouldn't think we'd want or need to do , especially at the price and given the players we already have.....but all about opinions !!!
