Good player.

I'd rather keep Skipp and move on our other CMs. If you're going for the expected 6 slots that's Maddison, Bentancur, Bissouma, Skipp, Hojbjerg and Pape sarr with glc, white and Ndombele gone. If Palhinha comes then Pape Sarr probably goes on loan

Or Hojbjerg goes to Athletico or Bayern

Couldn't we have had him for 15m when he went to Fulham. Think it was about the same time as we turned our noses up at Kim MIn Jae for 12m or something like that. Got a feeling we might be about to pull the same stunt with Alex Scott.

Yep, always a gamble taking a player from the Portuguese league. But these are the types of moves we absolutely need to execute with the new scouting and recruitment set up.

Yeah, we always back the wrong horse really. Clarke, Sess, Sanchez, N’Koudo, N’Jie, Jansen etc etc etc

This reeks of confirmation bias. I get what you are thinking, but every team has had failures in their transfer dealings; ours stick out because Tottenham is the team we follow. I don't follow Fulham enough to be able to reel off a list of their failures but I'm sure one of their fans would be able to.

I also dislike that Sanchez is mentioned amongst the others. For all his 'failings' he's played a lot more games for us than the collective total appearances of the other five players! To have played 205 times for the club and also having been a part of our team that reached the Champions League Final makes his presence next to the others seem harsh and lacking respect for a good servant to the club irrespective of any recent 'struggles'.

And his recent struggles were greatly amplified by the dreadful football we mostly played under Mourinho and Conte. It's like it was custom made to show off our defensive problems.

I think Conte was a fraud, for a supposedly “elite” coach.

He isn’t good enough for a top side at all.

He is very good defensively but he is terrible passing wise and on the ball.

He is basically incapable of passing forwards and constructively, way worse than any of our current midfielders.

I have attached a screenshot of his passing stats.

To play in that 6 role for Ange you’ve got to be capable in possession and able to consistently pass forwards.

Factor in how much he’d cost and this would be a crazy move. Much better off signing someone like Florentino Luis who offers the same defensive numbers but is miles better passing wise too.

The link is from the Sun, which… isn’t much better.
I keep saying it but I genuinely don't understand how Aggregators are banned but these sites keep getting their own threads day after day to regurgitate, twist and slap misleading headlines on other journalists articles.

The Mail reporting that Fulham want £90m for him. I thought he was going to West Ham. Probably fulham just trying to get West Ham to pay up once Rice has gone through.

Glad to see those stats - cheers. My Dad was born in Hammersmith so follows Fulham and he raves about him, thinks he's better and worth more than Declan Rice and much better than any midfielders we have, whereas i said i wouldn't want him at Spurs , having got the impression from watching a fair amount of their games that he's basically a tackling monster (with the yellow cards to go with it) but just average at everything else for a PL midfielder. I would also say that i'm not sure just how great he'd be anywhere else as he works very well with Harrison Reed in their system (Reed really good at covering for him when he's gone on one of his tackling forrays and leaves loads of space). Those stats tend to back up my impressions, although as my dad is pretty old i won't send them to him...unless he really annoys me.

For me he is the best midfielder outside the top 7. Rate him super highly major reason why Fulham did so well last season. Super aggressive but also much much more than that.

As mentioned in my post above, my Fulham supporting Dad (and their fans in general) agree with you, but those stats don't back that view up in the slightest. Stats say he's a great, almost freakish tackler, but what else does he do ? I suppose you can argue 'what else does he need to do' but i wouldn't want him at Spurs, certainly not with the new managers style, i never feel he's that comfortable in possession tbh , not terrible but not super comfortable and able to resist pressure.
