What a lot of absolute horseshit, Poch works with Toby day in day out but all of a sudden *meets* with him for discussion? Poch is a coach not the manager.
tbf he suffered a serious injury and he was not 100% fit when he played against newport and rochdaleMy source who has always said Toby and especially his family were happy at Spurs says that is no longer the case.
He cannot understand the stubbornness of the manager in not playing him. Barcelona is his preferred destination, but has been approached through back channels about replacing another Belgian at the recently crowned Premier League champions.
He means he was happy to run his contract down for another year - a situation that would cost the club £40m-£50m.My source who has always said Toby and especially his family were happy at Spurs says that is no longer the case.

He surely understands that the club could not let that happen and also that the oil clubs he will attract are not too bothered about these sort of sums anyway.
It doesn't make much sense and when it is all done and dusted, it would be interesting to know what was really going on.
Not having Toby all season is a major reason why we went out of Europe and the FA cup. He really makes the difference, so when he leaves, they had better have a decent replacement lined up.
Sanchez was £42m - he has plenty of potential, but is not in the same class at the moment .He could run it down... Then we will activate the clause for an extra year and that puts a £25M release clause. Frankly...a player in the last year of his contract always goes for slightly cheaper. So we may lose maybe £10M. Unless he is willing to wait 2 more years to become the next sol Campbellend.
At the end of the day.... It's Poch's call if he wants to fight for him to say. I understand having a formal meeting. It's a good time to clear the air... And ask him what his plans are. We only recently sercured champions league, so it might change things. I am sure if Toby wants to stay, The management team will try to give him the best possible contract they can.
The good news is there isn't much panic, we have already proven we can move on as a club without him, sure we all want himself on stay, but Toby needs to do what's best for Toby. He has been a magnificent player for us, and no matter what happens, I will still like him as a player.

Van Dijk £75m - is he as good as Alderweireld? I'd say no, but I'm biased.
If we could only get £35m this summer, then let him stay.
i dont care.davidson S is the manThe defender has been heavily linked with an exit from the club, and his manager has confirmed that they will speak about his future next week.

I see what you are saying, but if we could get £50m this summer and only £25m next year, then that is £25m down the drain. That is not going to go down well. This contract isn't up this summer, it's next summer, then an extension for the following summer, 2019, and it will run till the end of the 2019/20 season.
So now we might be able to get 50M, and next summer maybe 35M, but with the clause we will only get 25M. So we will lose about 10M due to the clause.
Van Dijk is younger, plus Liverpool was desperate.
My point is... It isn't as bad as it sounds. It's not as bad as the press is making it out to be.
