It's not the truth. It's our truth.
"Post-truth is a philosophical and political concept that refers to "the disappearance of shared objective standards for truth” and the “circuitous slippage between facts or alt-facts, knowledge, opinion, belief, and truth....
...circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief. "

Can you believe it? Football is meant to be about entertainment and opinions and he is post-truthing us. Don't we get enough of that already?

By his own rules, he is allowed his own truth if we win, not when we lose. I hope he is telling us some real whoppers post match tomorrow.

Poch after match interview was fantastic... Reading into it he's issue with levy I believe is allowing the club to be in the position of players running down their contracts and basically having us by the balls.
Poch is the best thing that has happened to us for decades, thankfully I think levy knows this and has listened to Poch this week in their meeting.

Haven't seen the interview but what can Levy do, Ramsey and Herrera both run down their contracts and what did two clubs with more financial clout than us do about it , nothing ,they were powerless to stop it if a player refuses to sign a new contract. Players know if they move on a free transfer then there is a bigger wage packet in it for them wherever they move to.

What levy could do is offer them an improved contract with two years left, if they don't sign its obvious where its leading to, so sell them for the maximum amount you can achieve at that point.
I am very surprised someone like Danny has allowed this situation to develop

Sell Eriksen and Toby in the same window? You're having an absolute laugh plus there needs to be a market for them and they both need to want to leave, you can't just sell if they have no intention of leaving.

What is obvious is that both want to run their contract down, it's one of those things we're gonna have to get used to because more and more players are doing it.

Well the old narrative was that we always sold our star players...Jamie Redknapp always banged that drum...you could argue that the players could have been offered contracts similar to Kanes, but previous ITK would suggest we’ve done this but what if said player doesn’t want to sign, or player agrees deal and then changes mind? What if when a player reaches the last year of their contract and then no-one offers them a deal, or another player is hell bent on joining one club only, turns down Man Utd?...I’m not
Sure what Levy could do?...

The Premier League fucked up shortening the window in the first place. Then they did the same this year. It’s shambolic what they’ve done.

Of course, if it wasnt shortened, Lo Celso and Sessegnon wouldnt have arrived until tomorrow.

Brilliant interview and there's much more fight and positivity.

Glad to get that week out of the way and go forward

No one wants to lose players ofc. But rewlnd Pochs interview after the match, he talks of mistakes and new strategy, If players won't resign new contracts I think you'll find he must mean move them on before their in their last year, what else could he mean? We offered Eriksen 200k apparently so what else do you think poch meant.... And I'm not avin a larf BTW

Not sure what Poch meant (probably talking about no signings last summer) but looking at these particular situations objectively there's not much else we could have done.

According to all the gossip Levy has been trying to get Chris & Toby to sign new contracts all through last season but they won't sign, a figure of £200,000 per week has been mentioned for Chris. To sell you have to have a buyer , Toby was supposedly available for £25 mill. but no buyers , Rose missed Asia tour while looking for a new club again no buyers . Do we actually know that Barca or Real even want TO buy Chris , Barca have already spent £229 mill on new players this transfer window and Real £274 mill so who is going to come up with the money for him even Man City are pleading poverty.

Clubs will be in for them in January to secure them on a pre-contract. Makes no sense to spend transfer fee now for them.

Which is nobody’s fault. You can’t put a gun to a player’s head and make them sign a contract if they don’t want to. It’s not the 1960s now.

You seem to be ignoring the player in all this. What if the player won’t agree to a transfer ?

Interesting how he wanted certainty the day after the CL final. According to him, if we’d won he may not have even been here! Good to see him positive again though.

Exactly this. Eriksen is clearly gambling on Real or Barca coming in for him if (when) he becomes a free agent, so why would he agree to be sold elsewhere or sign a new contract with us? He holds all the power until the day both Barca and Real decide they don't want him after all.
