I mentioned Rodgers a while back as a "when Poch leaves for Madrid" type of successor and someone on here suggested they had ITK as to why it would never happen. Don't spose it makes any difference, but would be interested to know why when he jumped at Leicester

And that's the problem. Sacking him and bring in who?

The people clamouring for mourinho, well they're beyond conversing with tbh

Allegri I doubt would be interested, he'll be holding out for a top top club. United, Madrid etc

If they was a manager out there that played good attacking aggressive football that believed in youth id be all for it.

Untill then I remain Switzerland
Agree, unless we can replace with someone better. Don't do it.

I have risen to the bait and I shouldn’t. He hasn’t shown any signs of winning trophies with a side with our resource. He hasn’t shown any ability in the transfer market since his first spell at Chelsea. He has alienated young players and mistreated staff.

Id rather wait until a good option came up rather than falling in bed with a sleazy guy in a sharp suit.
Didn't he win the CL and Europa League with Porto? They didn't have huge resources considering the cups they won

What are the home fans like? Only thing that gets DL's ring twitching is the murmurings of discontent among the home crowd.

Very loud Boos rang out at the final whistle and where I was sitting in the West lower a lot of people openly saying Poch needs to go. was also a lot of sarcastic applause when Aurier went off

Poch to Madrid?!?! Is Rayo Vallecano looking for a new manager?!?

He was player of the season last year - don't scapegoat him when he's no worse than most of the squad right now

He got a sympathy vote last season because he improved marginally from the semi-footballer that Newcastle fans giggled with joy at selling us. We've been pants for a year, which by a remarkable coincidence matches the period when he played every game. His refusal to show for the ball and defence splitting back passes make everybody around him look bad. And yes, he *is* worse than most of our squad by a country mile.

This rot has been set in for nearly the equivalent of a season now.

For those of you who are adamant sacking Poch is the wrong move, how would you feel if we’re on 40 points from 30 games this year?

He is not a good technical player though. Not really. He is an athlete and breaks up play. But offers little else. At least he puts effort in and makes the cm slightly less weak. First midfielder on my upgrade list.

We need to sack Poch and replace him with literally anybody, provided they drop Sissoko. Job done.

Mate this ain't Twitter, don't think you can get away with leaving some dumbness and expect people not to question you lol

That was a very long time ago. 15 years since he’s done that. And it was a great achievement. But it was also helped by walking the domestic league at the time.

Yes he's not the answer - he's just not the problem either.

I'm still Poch in but I'm now hanging on by my fingernails and would be open to a change if we could get someone genuinely decent - not Eddie Howe for example.

I think his players let him down today but the rebuild job currently looks massive.

Yeah but that is because all the clubs that have wanted him have had the money to spend. It's the same with Pep - he has never won anything without a lot of money backing him up, in fact, he has never done what Jose has done with the likes of Porto. Pep has done all his winning with clubs that could "afford" to win.

It's a common thing nowadays that if you want to win the biggest leagues and the best cup competitions, then clubs have to pony up a huge amount of money for the privilege, There are a few abnormalities, such as Leicester however.

In my opinion, Levy will never want Jose, as his ambition isn't really to challenge the City's and Liverpool's of this world. Levy wants success, but on his terms, and his terms mean less money, much less.

So the end result is Mourinho won’t have the hundreds of millions he needs to spend on a mismatch of good and mediocre talent in order to win playing boring football whilst falling out with players and staff.

Sounds like a great idea ?

I don't know tbh - I think it is unlikely that Mourinho doesn't get the nod for the job when it becomes available, as Levy won't be able to offer him the money he will want for the "Jose rebuild". The same could be said of Arsenal too perhaps?

The last successful Jose rebuild was first time at Chelsea. Our squad doesn’t just need a pep talk. It needs players

We have a much better squad than Utd who he won trophies with. We already have Ndombele and Kane which negates the £180m they spent on Lukaku and Pogba
