I had no idea how good this guy was when we bought him.

So glad to have watched him the last two games. The way he effortlessly received the ball facing our our goal, turns and takes out two flat footed oppos is an absolute joy to watch. He dances through other teams and creates something from nothing.

Thoroughly deserved motm. His positivity is infectious too. Good things are coming 🫰

It’ll be fat fingers, because can’t be anybody that doesn’t see how great Bissouma has been. Unless he disagrees because he is even better than he was against us for Brighton. Absolute baller.

This is the player I thought we were getting with Tanguy.

Loved watching him today. Definitely gives off Dembele vibes, but is also has a touch more speed about him.

It really boggles the mind when you think about last season and Conte convincing himself that this guy wasn’t good enough to play in his fantastically boring system.

At one point during the 2nd half, the United midfield came to a decision to not press him because of how easy it was for Yves to breeze right by them

Not only is the constant mentioning of Conte in every thread getting as boring as the Levy talk, but the Bissouma criticism is somewhat incorrect.

When Bissouma arrived he wasn’t match fit by his own admission. He also struggled to adapt to Conte’s system. He still managed minutes:

By MD5 he had his first 90 mins. He then featured in every single game (either full 90 or large part of the game and a small amount of sub appearances) except for 2 right up until his injury. He was then out injured for a large portion of the second half of the season, and when he was fit again Conte was long gone. (6 games gone to be exact)

Another thing to remember is PEH had his best season statistically last season, and Bentancur was our best player by a long shot. Everyone knows AC’s system uses 3 CB’s instead of 3 CM’s so it wasn’t going to be an easy task for him to break into the team and he still managed a reasonable amount of minutes until his injury.

The reason I bring this up is it’s a lazy stick to beat Conte with. And quite frankly there’s 1000 other reasons to beat him so we don’t need to fabricate another one. We’ve moved into a new era anyway. We shouldn’t be mentioning Conte at all.

He is a much better suited to this kind of system though. Ange will get the best out of him and Sarr. Absolute bargain of a buy, and I can’t wait to see him reach new heights this season.

He was incredible, but Sarr and Maddison held their own too. That trio is going to be unstoppable once everything starts to kick into full gear.

Oh and you are definitely right in saying he is £100m player, probably even more to us as he will continue to grow in this system

I literally made a post about this, this morning. Conte not playing him is a complete myth. Find something else to attribute to Conte, this isn’t one of them.
