Not everyone slagged him off beforehand. I can't ever remember having an opinion either way. It's a no brainer deal though - if he does well then the club will no doubt snap him up and if not then it was only a 6 month loan.

I mean, that comparison kind of works if it's Joey Barton or Mason Greenwood we're talking about - but we're not...

Timo Werner is someone who's hit the heights and gone through lows, but has always, as far as I can tell, been considered a total professional.

Worst comes to the worst he can be an impact sub when our energy levels drop. Or, it might just work and then he could be a real difference maker...

That's a ridiculously low option to buy fee, around £15m? That's peanuts in todays market. I know he's not been in great form but even at Chelsea and since going back to Germany his goal contributions are still 1 in 2 more of less. Say he manages to get around 10-15 goals/assists in the next 6 months, you'd almost have to take him permanently at that price wouldn't you?
