Jose expecting Steve out for season.
Quite possible that ours were playing an ultra intensive, high-pressing game on top of a small squad, no youth integration, low rotation, European and International football and demanding double training sessions for years. You don't just recover from that.
He said the same about Kane and Son.
For fuck's sake, did we build the new stadium on top of an ancient burial ground, after pissing on the remains? I can't remember any other season where we had this many long-term injuries. Almost everyone in the squad has gone down at some point, it's ludicrous.
Which still may end up being true
Surely it's beyond a coincidence. Liverpool press, City press, and they have nothing like our injury list.I think it’s time we adress the medical team. We’re riddled with long time injuries and they keep piling up as we go.
It’s a squad issue IMO. Last season we didn’t have the numbers to be able to rotate key players despite the fact that we were dealing with more World Cup fatigue than any club in the world bar Real Madrid and they were absolutely run into the ground.
This season the lack of a Llorente replacement meant there was no rotating Son once Kane went down, and then once Son was injured we were right back in the position of playing the same three attackers in nearly every match. It would have required massive good fortune for none of them to get injured under that sort of workload.
The lack of investment in the squad has simply been too much to cope with the past two seasons. We dug ourselves into a deep hole in summer 2018 and have yet to get out of it despite the money we’ve spent.

Exactly my argument that Son wasn’t enough for Kanes backup. It’s a squad issue IMO. Spot on..happens to Kane every year. It's not luck is it. It's about running players into the ground through hard fitness training and lack of rotation, over a long period of time.
I agree, but it's probably because in the last 10 mins we have been chasing the game after playing like shit for 80 mins so need our best player's on the pitch. Not that I think Troy would have got much more time even if we were 4-0 up.It does beg the question as to why, even if he is not deemed 'ready' or the finished article, Parrott or even Etete were not involved more often in the odd 10 minute cameo just to preserve players well being. Seems like basic squad management. Though obviously that squad management has been more difficult due to the amount of injuries he's had to deal with.
Round. Of. ApplauseIt's not luck is it. It's about running players into the ground through hard fitness training and lack of rotation, over a long period of time.
There are many factors that would contribute to this shit show but I highly doubt the medical team have anything to do with it.I think it’s time we adress the medical team. We’re riddled with long time injuries and they keep piling up as we go.
Seems we really do have a curse.
I personally wish, after we go out tomorrow, Jose would just accept the season was over. And play the likes of Criken, Parrot, Sess etc with whoever's fit and stop playing 5/6/7 center backs. Just build for the future and bring in the youth team whilst trying to play more attacking settled football. Our season is over all things considered.
