He plays more centrally here , more often than not beats English press , skinned Walker & Magiire and often finds the key pass.

Not hard to look good against Declan Rice though ?

Although Bergwijn looks half decent he was ineffective against Spurs in the Champions League and didn't stand out. I think this is a bit of a punt, really.

Poch requested 'different tools to work otherwise I am the stupidest guy...' in one of his pressers. So Levy sacked him and reverted to bringing in slightly more calculated punts.

We'll see if we're any better off in another 5 years.

Just on the CL games- Bergwijn missed their home game. In the away game at us, they scored in 2 mins so their general tactics changed. Moreover he picked up a knock in 2nd half but carried through playing.

I would say Njie, Jansen, Nkoudou were punts. Don’t think Bergwijn is a punt.

Papers say that we bid 21m, but 30m is probably more on point.

Bergwijn is a very exciting signing. He has been highly regarded as one of the brightest players of his age group and now is his chance to take the next step in his progression with a big club in a big league. He has everything in his locker and I think his positional awareness and reading of the game could make him a better fit in the XI than Lucas (when he isn't playing striker).

Good signing if we can get it done. Haven't seen a whole lot of him tbh, but what I have seen looked decent (strong, quick, skillful and intelligent). Hopefully he has a high ceiling and will save us being linked to Zaha for the forseeable future.
