Never heard of this guy before, and I do judge him for wanting to play a contact sport where you wear over-the-top protection, but I like him.

An elite finisher. Put him in the positions and he scores goals.

I personally think he’s won’t play to much on the wing.

Completely agree. We’ve been conditioned to view Son as a winger/wing forward over the years but his qualities are clearly now more suited to playing centrally. He’s not a wing forward. He could score 30 plus this season if he stays fit. Leagues ahead of Richarlison for me.

Sonny loves Spurs the way most people hoped that Kane had loved Spurs.

Kane will go down as perhaps our greatest player ever. Sonny will go down as perhaps our most beloved player ever.
Couldn't agree more about Sonny and beloved is really the right word. Guys of my age and older (70+) know absolutely that Kane is not our greatest player ever.

I have completely re-fallen in love with him. Not that I ever fell out of love with him, but since becoming captain he has such a new dimension about him. When he pointed to the Spurs badge on his chest as he equalised you could just see how much he cares about the club.

I love Kane and Lloris, but especially in later years, I never really saw any moments of Spurs affection from them. Maybe that shows how needy I am! But those gestures mean a lot to fans.

Again I must note that I am an idiot and know nothing about football. All last season I was convinced that Son was past his best and rapidly on the decline. I couldn't have been more wrong. Making him captain has been a masterstroke.

Tbf mate. If you look back so many were writing him off.

Our team was in such low confidence and using tactics that just didn’t suit. It was making many players look poor.

I think the moral of this story is to not judge any of players on last season alone. Was chaotic on and off the pitch for many reasons.

What a captain. Incredible move from Ange and he looks transformed at 9 with Johnson replacing Son’s pace on the wing. Watching him egg on the away support after equalizing just wonderful. Hope we get that extension done.

Away from the goals physically he looks completely different this season. I think the injury last season was affecting him massively. He showed that acceleration yesterday, and if he can maintain that I don’t think we’ll need a first choice striker for at least two years. Maybe more. I think stylistically he is showing he is perfect for an Ange number 9.

Scored his 150th goal for Tottenham at the weekend

Exactly the same goals to games ratio as Defoe & Keane

Scores in 40% of the games he plays in

Kind of wild as he's been playing as a winger for the majority of his time here too.

As @chas vs dave mentioned, 50 goals in 65 games for us when Kane hasn't played and 43 in 81 at ST for us according to transfermarkt.

When he got the golden boot it was largely from him being the most advanced and making inside runs while Kane dropped off. Even from the wide role his best quality has been to roam infield and make runs into the box or get shots from the edge of the box. I think his new role is working well because he's able to still roam but most importantly he's not coming as deep as from the wing where he has to track back.

What a player only thing is aerially for a man his size id expect more. But you know he probably works on that.

Martin O'neil was on talksport yesterday saying how much he liked our team now but we were missing a top finisher???

Son has 5 in 6 games and he won a golden boot the season before last. Martin setting a very high bar these days for what counts as a goalscorer.
