All 3 aren’t really good enough to be starting regularly for us IMO. It’s an area we can definitely improve.

It doesn't matter unless we can sell someone to free up a non-HG slot and get funds anyway. It's not just a case of "Get him in".

Davies I believe was a centre back for club and country so get this utter superb lb in and work it between them and give the young lb mins. You can’t expect cirkin to start prem. im drunk but loved that left back in the final. If players are availabl.....
Which club did Davies play CB for? We signed him from Swansea, where he played LB

definitely but there’s other areas that need sorting out that take precedent I think. Another striker for one.

For what Jose seems to want to do tactically Davies seems more than okay.

If we are short of cash as has been stated can we not get Reguilon on loan with (or without) a commitment to buy. RM and Barcelona have players on loan all over Europe. Aren’t we supposed to have a special relationship with RM?

Ally Gold in his new video today was talking about Reguilon. Says he knows he is a player they like a lot and that LB isn't a priority right now but it could be one to watch where if the price gets to a certain point they would just make it work and do the deal. Similar to Bergwijn in January is what he compared it to in a player for the future that they've targeted for a while and jumped on the opportunity.

This is such an important positional strategy for all of Jose's successful history. If he's identified this target, well, history tells us why.

Similar to Doherty, this would be a fantastic and motivational signing for all involved.

DL and Jose certainly seem to be reading of the same hymn sheet.

Keep it coming

This is all very well and good, but if his price is anywhere near the £20-£25m mark and we're waiting for it to drop by another £5m or so I suspect we will be too late, because at that price, if it's true, it will be right for a fair few, and he will be snapped up whilst we play the waiting game.

.....and United are already being linked and of course they'll pay up.

I think the best case scenario is convincing Madrid to give us a loan but that's unlikely.

I agree, I think a loan is optimistic and will fail if others are willing to pay up now. I can see Man United paying £25m without breaking sweat, and let's not forget that Leicester have £50m burning a hole in their pocket to sign a left back.

I fear this will be another case of him being as successful as Ricardo Pereira and Bruno Fernandes and having an instant impact with many on here crying over it claiming we've missed the boat again.

I know Gards has a mixed rep in here but he's probably talking about Reguilon here given the other info we've had so might as well put it in this thread.

I'm a bit confused as to us not being interested in a left back. I guess the positive spin on that is that Sessegnon shows a lot more promise in training than he does playing.

Never seen Requilon play, but if he is nearly as good as Wood I am all for it :D

I think the Bergwijn comparison is fantastic. Both are players who look like they are going to be very, very good and if Reguilon is available for an attainable price, then we should jump on it in the same way that we did with Bergwijn. Even if it isn’t an immediate need, it would still make us better right away and allow us to loan out one of Sessegnon or Cirkin and still have rotation options.
