This all a bit odd, smacking your captain about.

Very odd, but no doubt will be filed under “banter”, which in my view is often a translation of being a ****.

Even that article states Aurier seems to be smiling and taking it all like a joke. Didn’t look like that to me.

Clearly a joke. They guy doing it is laughing just before he tweaks Aurier's nose.

So much more disciplined this season. Stays on his feet and tracks runners in behind so much better. Best game for us by a mile.

@Mornstar Why the funny rating?

I don’t want to tempt fate, but he seems to have cut out the suicide tackles, he’s really upped his game.

Dunno if it’s the arrival of Doherty but... wow.

A few glimpses of his talent, a couple of false dawns, but we are now seeing intelligence and patience added to Serge’s game, and I cannot believe even his harshest critic would have Doherty as first choice.

I think it helps he’s not so exhausted physically by flying forward In games like this and he’s allowed to just focus on one thing

I think it is Doc that has pushed Serge's levels up. He basically had no competition for his place last season and was picked for nearly every game. Superb today, disciplined, determined and composed.

Serge was immense today - his decision making in defence is absolutely transformed. Jose talks about simple rules when it comes to defending - I think Serge is benefiting from the style of coaching - in most scenarios he has a simple set of rules to follow and the difference in his decision making is night and day to before

He just needs an run in the team and support from the manager.

This is like a new signing and compliments to Aurier and Mourinho for turning this around. Aurier's true ability is finally unlocked!!

UTD Away and now City. that's just off the top of my head as he was excellent in both

He definitely has the Mourinho mentality. The guy never hides and you’ll never see his head drop. That’s why I liked him even when he was making mistakes, never dwelt on it just moved on.

This is the Serge Aurier I expected us to get when we signed him.

Difficult to beat, aggressive in the tackle and comfortable on the ball.

He's also superb at knowing when to track and get in front of runners when his head is firmly screwed on.
