We need him to go. I know an upgrade would be better first but he is awful and costs us all too often. I’d sooner be left playing Tanganga there rather than keeping Aurier and having to see him add nothing in both defence and attack again

Not the quickest and struggles with defending 1:1. His tackling and jostling aren’t great.
He is quick. At least as quick as Aurier, probably a bit quicker. He just doesn't 'look' quick in his running style, long legs!

The others I don't know, but I've watched him a few times and I haven't really seen him exposed too much. playing a wing back in Italy means it's not always easy to tell these things. I do know he has better defensive stats than the other wing backs in Atlanta though.

EDIT: As soon as I said that he comes in with a great full bodied last ditch clean tackle.

If Aurier, Foyth, and KWP go, I think two new RBs are needed this season. Given our injury record, and the amount of fixtures we'll be playing next year, we cannot spread ourselves thin once again. Tanganga will probably still be needed to make a few appearances at RB when one of our new RBs pick up an injury.

RB First choice player [Dumfries / Celik / Castagne]
RB Understudy [Aarons]
CB Alderweireld
CB Dier
CB Sanchez
CB Tanganga
LB Davies
LB Sessegnon
LB Cirkin

Sorted. We'd basically be netting zero spend by offloading those players.

I don’t understand some people’s reluctance to get rid of a player who almost single handedly gifts the opposition a goal every game..

..similarly to the way Ndombele gets lauded on here for doing diddley squat, yet some are dead keen to see the back of Sissoko - a player who works his socks off for the cause, every single game.

I think we need to be careful what we wish for.
Serge isn't as bad as he's made out to be on here. Yeah, he's not perfect but he's not terrible either and we could do a lot worse imo.
If he goes for something approaching decent money, fair enough but we need to have a replacement lined up.
Would Aarons do? Or would he become another scapegoat? Our left and right backs have become whipping boys of late.

I think now is the time to sell as I've said previously. His contract/Age is prime cashing in stage and he's not a player like for example Vertonghen was where you're desperate to keep even if sell-on value disappears

I see Aurier is scapegoat of the day! He's not as bad as people make out and has had a good patch of form. I'd probably have him competing with KWP to be honest and prioritise LB and DM.

Serge can't defend and can't attack. Aarons can attack and is quick

But Aarons's defensive capabilities give me some cause for concern and if he makes a couple of errors, he's in for the high jump.
I like him, don't get me wrong but I can't say for sure that he'd be an upgrade.
Finding decent fullbacks is no easy task and I honestly don't think Serge is as bad as many people on here appear to.

Whether we sell him or not I don’t think he should be our starter, makes far to many mistakes

If we can get a good price for him, then why not? Presumably Jose wants to upgrade this position. He can apply the money from a Serge sale to get the player that best fits his system. With the back up being Japhet.

in short, if Milan stump up with 25m, we’d be fools not to take it.

Di Marzio says the fee is around €12-15M

regardless of his quickness, his ability to get into good spots (even though he more often than not let’s us down with his final ball) the biggest issue with him is how bad his touch is that puts the rest of the defenders in tough positions. He turns the ball over in dangerous spots and that’s his biggest liability.

That quote is ridiculously low, even for Aurier. He's still got 2 years on his contract and is only 27. I feel like we'll be able to get someone to pay €20m for him.

He's also just had a fairly good season of 2G and 7A across the Premier League and the Champions League. I think he'll have plenty of suitors both domestically and abroad.
