I don't see why we'd sell him at this point. Upgrade him, sure, but I doubt we'll find better quality backup.
He wanted to leave last season. Can't see him wanting to stay around as a backup and he's worth too much and too high a salary to have as back up.

He wouldn’t want to be a backup. He wanted to leave last year. Have to buy two though if he leaves. No point in him leaving if we don’t

Honestly, I’m not sure if there’s a reasonably priced upgrade on Aurier out there.
Castagne has physicality issues and fullbacks are at a huge premium. We would need a large fee for me to feel OK with this. KWP isn’t ready.

Maybe if we sell Aurier, Tanganga becomes the defensive RB option and we get Castagne to do the Aurier job.

Would allow us to play Cirkin/Sess when Tananga is on and overload the left, or Davies and Castagne together to overload the right.

Soz for being a noob, but is this Romano a reliable source?
He's clearly got contacts. But a lot of the information he presents shouldn't be taken at face value.

Like the N'dombele to Inter stuff came from him. Which probably had some legs, but was quickly rubbished by something from our side.

I suspect Milan do have interest in Aurier, what will that mean? Who knows.

I'm not overly bothered if we sell Aurier, but I can't see us signing 2 new RBs, which is what we would need. Yes, Tanganga can play there if necessary but if we want to do well we need two dedicated full-backs on both sides.

I think it depends what we get for him. If the finances allow us to hit better targets I can see that. I think the Castagne + Aarons as our fullbacks next season looks good to me, with Tanganga in the mix too. If we can sell Aurier for 1 and a half of those two players, I reckon its a goer.

Ndombele to inter stuff might have come from inter milan.. just because our club don't want the deal, doesn't mean inter milan don't want it.

Castagne, aarons, davies, tanganga as full back options would be great. Aarons and davies are dedicated right and left back, whereas tanganga and castagne can play as both right amd left back. Sounds like a good plan.

I'm not desperate to see him stay or go. He's probably been our most improved player under Mourinho although I understand why some want him gone so badly. I don't personally think Tanganga is all that at RB, especially going forward, but if we could bring in an upgrade on Aurier I'd naturally be fine with it. Castagne sound useful since he can play both sides and I'd have liked Bogle but doubt that would happen.

We want to improve the starting 11 so I don't have an issue with this if the player being bought to replace Aurier is an actual upgrade.

On second thought, I’d actually rather tanganga as the backup and for us to buy a top right back rather than one who struggled in the prem (yes I know he was in a shit team) and one who is good but imo lacks athleticism (castagne). I’d love us to sign mukiele from Leipzig. Has tanganga’s athleticism and size, but also has quick feet and can put a ball in when required. He also has a knack for always winning the ball when going to ground. We all saw how impressive he was against us in the champions league
