Scapegoat agenda etc...you lot are honestly so fucking boring.
Hey, it's the standard set from last year. If a defender makes any sort of mistake, especially if it leads to a goal, it doesn't matter how good or bad the rest of his performance was.

He was ok today, it was a split decision reaction against a very good player.

It wasn't great but I won't be crucifying him for it.

There's been some positives in the last few games and I'm preferring to focus on those.

He has a mistake in him no doubt but he is still the best right back at the club atm, such a sad state of affairs

Actually don’t think the mistake for the pen was that bad he actually done well to prevent mane scoring great recovery and tackle just poor awareness to see where mane was and mane was quicker mentally

Aurier needs replacing ofc... But didn't really think he was that bad today.... Eriksen let him hang out to dry, as did Poch with his tactics

Felt sorry for Serge, I thought he had done well up until the pen. I felt he was very unlucky as for me Mane just jumped in front of where he was going to kick it with the intention of getting kicked by serge to win the pen, a bit dishonest to me, but hey I guess this is the "beautiful game" nowadays. I don't think Mane would have been able to control the ball if he didn't get kicked. I guess this type of behaviour is normal in the way the game is nowadays, don't think I would have seen this type of thing happen in the rugby.

Sometimes he looks decent, but he’s brain fart central. Never going to be able to trust him long term. Unreliable

Problem is, as stated above, this is the best we have at the club. Ridiculous.

Played into Mane’s hands unfortunately, everyone knows that Mane will always manage to get in a position to get a decision in his favour.
Surely this would have been covered in the pre game planning but unfortunately the reputation Serge has now means we all look at it as yet another cock up.
I thought Keane summed him up perfectly, how many times can he keep doing what he’s doing, if I was the oppo and I saw his name on the team sheet he’d be my first target.

He is unreliable and that is not changing. One of the priorities in January is a RB and hopefully ship Aurier out. Been an absolute disaster of a signing.

Mane is just cleve as you said a bit dishonest he kicked to ball onto Sissoko's hand in the CL final and won a pen. There is a case in saying we're not learning

Don't know who identified him or pushed to sign him but must have been pissed at the time. Dreadful player who is a complete liability. The odd good cross or saving last ditch tackle doesn't hide how awful his general play is.

Scandalous we didn't sign a RB once Trippier left in the summer and thought between this clown Aurier and the weakling that is KWP, we'd be OK. Don't know if Max Aarons is gettable in January, but if not surely it can't be too hard to improve on our dreadul options at RB.

This is not fat fingers lol. Same played him, knowing SA would be a knob head, and give a pen.
Spurrific & Eric S spamming ne for my comments. Well it seems Keane, Neville, Souness, Carragher agrees with me. Each to their own.

If you're going to try and back your argument, saying 'Keane, Neville, Souness, Carragher agree with me' probably isn't the way to go.

For the record, I think Aurier is shite.

Was strolling through the whole sequence. Should never have allowed Mane to run onto the ball and get infront of him in the first place

Aurier is faster and stronger than that but simply cannot be bothered half the time

Point taken, and appreciated. I understand ‘spam’ when it’s called for, but my comments did not warrant them. Thanks again.

I don’t think it was a penalty. If anything, it was a foul on Aurier.

Mane is one of the biggest cheats in football and he has a reputation of conning us going back to his Southampton days.

He’s clever and he knows exactly how to buy penalties. Even in the CL final he intentionally kicks the ball into Sissoko’s armpit. If you think that’s a stretch, watch it back (if you can stomach it), Mane looks up then kicks the ball straight at Sissoko, had Sissoko not been there, the ball would’ve gone backwards towards the half way line.

Anyway, back to today... Watch it back. Mane hangs his leg between the ball and Aurier’s outstretched leg, he knows Aurier is going to follow through on him. I guarantee you, had Aurier gone down clutching his ankle, it’s a free kick to us. You see that kind of foul all the time, attackers trying to block defenders from clearing it and following through on them, and every single time it’s a free kick to the defender.

It was Mane’s reaction, the Anfield crowd and an inept referee who bought that penalty.

Aurier did nothing wrong.
