3 games, good lad well done. Again let's see shall we. It's a good start. One of many for him unfortunately. People are so quick to get their digs lol. You think he's made it and nailed on starter for us going forward now do you?

Or is it a case of working out how to play the game in a way that it doesn't aggravate previous injuries and thus gaining more confidence from it, which in turn allows him to put in better performances?

He's definitely got game intelligence with his off the ball movement and ghosts into dangerous areas. It's one of the main reasons he scored all those goals in the championship.

If he can get through the last game healthy and do whatever work needs to be done, probably mostly rest, in the off season to get over that hamstring injury and gets through pre-season it'll be exciting. Add a bit of competition in that position to carry on improving and he might be cooking with gas.

That's what I meant by a lot to do. Ive never said he doesn't have the talent, but there's a lot of ifs to get through and I really do hope he gets there as that would be the best for Spurs.

He’s only just turning 22; that’s young for a defender/ wing back. Fitness is key. If he stays reasonably fit he could develop into an excellent wingback, one that would fit a Conte system perfectly. I much prefer him to Reggie- he’s more composed and much more threatening as an attacking WB

Fitness is key with Sess. Sometimes I feel like he plays within himself due to fear of injury, or he never really stretches his legs due to fear of injury. I hope over time he stays fit and finds the confidence in his body. He has everything to be a top player. I still feel he is a bit timid at times, but I'm sure Conte can coach and ignite the fire in him fully.

Coming on well.
The difference a run of games makes and a manager who clearly sets out his responsibilities.
Defends well one on one, and is making good contributions with his crossing in attack.
Lots more to come and starting to fulfill the expectations

Would definitely sell Reggy and keep Sess.

Then you could bring in an experienced LWB such as Kostic/Perisic and have two really good options in that position.

Sees staying healthy and improving is such a massive boon for the club. He’s still so young, Home grown, and really fits the wingback role perfectly. We absolutely should look to cash in on Reguilon and move for a guy like Kostic/Sosa to Save some money presumably to spend bigger elsewhere. Just hope the injuries can be put behind him and he really starts to thrive, it does seem like the confidence and really feeling like he belongs at this level is starting to show.

On the up, thankfully. Still feel we have a LB and a RB (both very capable ones) playing at LWB and RWB. I think as pure full backs in a two they’d play even better.

Doing a good job now and I’m delighted for him. Promising for next year

Looking better and better as his confidence grows. His defending has really impressed me this season, snd we already knew he was good going forward, so when you add in his athleticism as well not much more you can ask from a wing back really!

Best thing is we know he has goals in him too which we are yet to see but no doubt will

still need another first team quality wing back so we can rotate next season, but I’d be surprised if there’s anyone we could get who would be a clear first choice over sess if he keeps this up.

You need to get over yourself. Good game again well done. Let's see over a substantial period before we start talking about pie servings.

I suppose you don't think we need a starting LWB this summer then?

I agree with the league 2 crap. But to be fair he still has a lot to do even after three games where people are getting rather punchy

I'm not...?

Not at all. I've always said I'd love him to come good. Why wouldn't I?

My posts are quite clearly aimed at some posters to calm down a bit and see what he does for longer than you can count on one hand. That's all.

Really happy with his performance and the win. Nothing sour at all

Awwww is little Sessegnon doing that annoying thing where he's better than you initially claimed?

So annoying when players do that.

Sending virtual hugs your way ?

Lol. Cheers. Not really, I think Emerson has been just as good the last few games yet doesn't get the same affection and people want him gone/upgraded.

Thing is I never said he was a bad player. I said Ive not seen it yet and people were talking like all he needed to do was get better mentally, and get fit and that position is sorted like he was the finished article. That's madness. Even now he has a lot of improving to do in a lot of aspects in his game.

God forbid but he might pull up again tomorrow with another hamstring injury and then what? He is still holding back in sprints that's really obvious.

Injuries and mentality can hold players back from being prem quality to being championship or lower. The way people are talking it's like he will definitely get over both but the reality is that's not a given.

The fact you say he's better than I said he was proves you, and most others have completely missed my point.

We still really need a quality lwb this summer otherwise it would have been a bad window imo.

So, three years ago I stated that Sess & Aarons will never be more than average players in the prem at best, and I got a ton of flak for it.

Seeing Ryan's progress under Conte and especially these last three games, I'm warming up to the fact that I might have been wrong.
He still has plenty of learning and improving to do, but I'm finally starting to believe that he might just become the player we all have wanted him to become so kudos to him and Conte.

Here's hoping he can keep it up and stay healthy! Go, Ryan!

The amount u post isn't healthy. No need to be passively aggressive to fellow spurs fans.

Poster should be allowed to get it wrong and learn.

Wingback is his best position but he hasn't played there until Conte arrived. Add the disruption of injuries to that and his age to develop he's doing well. He's about 6 months into his best position now and each time he has a run of games he looks good. He's learning what Conte wants from him. I like the dynamic between him and the forwards with Davies also supporting at times. I personally wouldn't rush to sign a left wing back in the summer , right side is more important and we need to improve other areas too. It's not a position I'm too concerned about.

Yeah, I like Reggie and his enthusiasm but Sess is younger and does seem to have a better football brain.
I think more importantly Sess looks like a WB and Reggie is clearly a fullback.

It’s the same argument for Doherty and Royal.
